(Continuation from yesterday)

The clocks have already arrived at the office, and I could not return them because they are no faults.

And I, am also the engineers involved in the development of indoor GPS transmitting device.

(What I had done is to ensure the development costs, verify experiment and set the conference call with Switzerland)

I can not give up for relating to "time", "radio waves",

So,

"I'll set up a radio tower in office"

From last week, we have been repeating the strange experiment many times in my office.

(I gave my coworkers several pretty annoying, however these stories will be later date for this).

After trying some experiments about for a week, I finally was able to to receive the radio waves of the "lie of the time" in the future after 26 hours using the equipments of Ebata house laboratory (my room).

(I strongly thank Mr.developer who have make this software)

Still, there are a lot of challenge to pile up, though, I think I could be at the starting line.

After that I will plead with a great engineer to help me.

-----

Anyway,

"How do I think the fact, that we can get Mobile phone radio waves, however, we cannot receive radio waves for precise time? "

I think that it is something serious.

I seemed to upset my health and tool a day off on my futon.

Afternoon of the day before yesterday, I felt sick. As soon as feeling vomiting, I decided to go home.

-----

In this year, last week, my wife and the junior daughter has already been hit, and the symptom was terrifying.

"Only three seconds after vomiting reflex"

It is really "no time" to come to the restroom.

While putting this stuff away using mask, vinyl glove and bleach, I thought "this cold is hard-case"

That aside.

-----

As soon as coming back to home, I asked my wife bucket, plastic bag, towel and something to drink, and collapsed onto mu futon,

In spite of many pieces the futon, I could not stop feeling cold. After that, body temperature became hot and I reduced the futon. That was a typical situation that I could not "body temperature adjustment".

I knew it is a disease, but the problem was, whether just the cold or the flu.

Even if it was the flu, I had to give up going to the office for this week, however, it is not serious problem for me.I am not likely to bear the suffer from the flu for many days under the high heat of 39 degrees .

I dislike any pain and suffering thoroughly. Even if I know that the disease is going well in a few days, I come to think "I want to die". I am an owner of wimpy guts.

(Continuation from yesterday)

About four in the early morning, I took a bath, but I felt cold and even in bathtub and goose pimples.

I sent a mail to the office to take a day off, and I concentrate sleeping after that.

I am a typical insomniac, however I know well that I have to sleep at any moment. So I take tranquilizer, sleeping pill and Japanese sake, and any other methods.

Though I don't think that it is a right way, sleeping is important to cure cold and I am glad if the suffering time becomes shorter.

-----

After all, I could recover from the cold for one day, thanks to the enforcement sleeping.

The fever has been in a day, so it was not the flu absolutely. I thought it might be my fatigue.

This morning, I squeezed miso-soup in the floor, during the breakfast, before leaving home.

That let me down deeply, though,

"It is better than to tidy my vomiting that fully includes virus and bacteria"

and I started to clean my room( and arrived at the office late)

I think that I know well that any privacy is abused by power easily,

I can say with certainty that there is no "balanced open and use of privacy". in the world.

If privacy is acquirable, it become absolutely acquired, used (abused) by anyone.

But in my opinion, even if you look me as a paradox, I don't think "any privacy is important at all cost".

I don't take care of other's privacy at all, even if it is needed from the viewpoint of my merits(safe and relief, for example).

Moreover I also have no intention to fight power about even violation of my privacy.

I am a engineer who had been studying location based service(LBS) with GPS and other devices, and I can support that the LBS service is used for suppression of crime.

(In this case, "crime" is misconduct on the current criminal law)

(Continuation from yesterday)

About my discomfort, I think that you would understand to read the following of first half

In Japan, "nobody becomes guilty without legal proceedings" (Code of Criminal Procedure 197, paragraph 1 proviso).

-----

In short, I want to say,

"Why the police skipped the process to get the letter from the court before using GPS or Wifi or another devices?"

I don't want the court of all things to say "not important illegality".

Even I who want to spend my life submitting to authority, also think that this issue should not be obscure, because this process is, I think, a building block of judicial police.

I was very surprised that obtaining a warrant seems to be very easy, and the process is called "vending machine".

I don't know whether

"So much more, because it is a vending machine" or

"Any more, because it is a vending machine"

I don't know the process of warrant becomes a dead letter.

Even if it is a reality, "ruling illegality" of this issue at this time is, including social conditions at the time as same the "ex post facto"

Even the engineers like me, I think that's so important.

To tell you the truth, this is my real intention (story of the image data transfer experiment).

Even I, as just a civilian, am doing the complex procedure on the law.

"You guys, are professional law enforcement agencies, called "judicial police". If you are professional, not pull out the hand of the job. "

I do want to say the above strongly.

This weekend, I have come to my country house with big tower-type PC.

I have to do some experiments with EtherCAT slaves even at the country house.(The weekend researcher is tired of something.)

That's aside.

There are a lot of fears in the world. This time, I felt fear of being blocked by the Internet.

The country house has no the Internet access method, so I always bring a mobile communication card with me. It is only one way to access the Internet.

"It doesn't come to work well at this time"

-----

Not accessing the Internet, I don't come to watch any checklists, maps and some information during my homecoming,

I cannot get any information of hospital, cutcher, facility.

All activities of this homecoming is going to be stopped.

In addition, pile of some materials in the big suitcase for overseas travel become junks because I cannot read the web manual.

This is really serious impact for me.

As a result, I analysed the mobile communication card, and dismounted the cell, and re-activated it again, I could confirm that it became work well with sign of relief.

-----

I always say "The Internet doesn't makes us happy" in public, however, I have to accept the fact of "No Internet makes me unhappy" with regret.

"No, it is not true"

"No Twitter, no Facebook and no SNS brings us wonderful life",

I insist on the above.

Last weekend, I came to my country house, and helped my father to change his driver's license for drive history certification.

For some reasons we had had.

Aside from that.

On last Sunday, I went to the exam hall of driving test of the prefecture, I was really surprised to see

Enormous numbers of people.

For the people, the excising parking area was not enough at all. All of the larger driving test was opened for the parking lots.

Even so, it was very difficult to find the parking space.

I don't know whether the business working on Sunday is good or bad, however, basically, it would a good thing.

- Daily busy works

- Diligent national character.

Anyway, it is true that nobody certainly can afford to life.

Well, I don't have an intention to blame for them.

I go back to my country home, taking my desk-top PC, and do various procedures and assistants for my father and mother, on the weekend and Monday(as annual leave),

Even if I take a day off as an annual leave or care leave, I cannot change the day of the regular research report, and

If you take a day off during the week, only thing I must work on a holiday.

-----

I think that a revolution is going just now, like "the Islamic Revolution, socialism, would be communist revolution or anything" in Japan.

"That's not it"

It has already started since before.

それは、

It must be called,

"Old person thrown in the mountains revolution"

"Unemployed revolution"

"Single revolution"

"Falling birthrate revolution"

They are

plain, inconspicuous, and no light of hope, to destroy the state of the mechanism itself,

and, they are true revolutions.

The other day, I had a meeting with Mr.T, who is a chief editor and Ms.M who is charge of my column, at EE Times Japan office.

Before the meeting, I applied for the discussion about the quality of my columns, "Recently, I am afraid that my columns often missed the rank-in of numbers of Page Views(PVs), so I want to re-make a fundamental review of the theme and configuration"

Ms.M was waiting for me with some materials about the PVs of my columns, that she had made.

-----

Mr.K and Ms.M said that,

"The main reasons of decreasing of PVs are, changes of cooperations mechanism with other search engine provider"

"So, at the moment, we don't take care of a review of themes and configuration your columns."

I could finally take a sigh of relief, and I were able to start reading data in the material carefully.

The summaries were,

the PVs of "Net fraud" is overwhelmingly many.

I could have estimated this result beforehand, however, I think it is just fluke blessed with "unhappy" in good timing, so I didn't count it as a fruit.

What I was really surprised were,

"An engineers who never has been loved by English" series are still popular.

The PVs of "Oil depletion" and "Kyoto Protocol" are better than others

Ebata:"The theme of "English" has been strong without change."

Ms.M:"I think that the interest of readers about "English" is really high"

Ebata:"According to "Oil depletion" and "Kyoto Protocol", I was shocked at the few number of Twitter or Facebook, because I had written the column for my life"

Ms.M:"Well, there were some relationships between PVs and SNS comments previously, however, it becomes more ambiguous."

-----

It it true that the series of "Numbers" hardly burst burst into flame.

I think "numbers" is the only way against "numbers".

In fact, there is no person who has been disproved by the numbers against my columns.

"Numbers" can easily ignore any conceptual issues, like philosophy, ideals and justice.

Contrary speaking,

"Numbers can annoy readers easily"

Especially "statistics" in numbers, is very easy to fool the people, by way to show the data. without the illegal act of such data tampering.

So, statisticians (say now, (big) data analyst) have been found useful in power both now and the past.

(Continuation from yesterday)

In addition, about "prediction (for economy or population, e.t.c.)", no one can know whether it is correct or not, without opening the prediction algorithm.

And, as far as I know, there is no movement, diet, administration, and committee to open the source code of the prediction program(It's true).

-----

In my case, I have opened all of program source codes and data about my columns.

These my activities , I believe, give the readers some propriety of contents of my columns.

Even if nobody check the contents of source codes, they are going to give some confident to the columns.

(To my surprise, I heard that an editor of EE Times Japan is trying to compile and execute my codes. Well done.)

Let us think why an authoritative institution takes same approach of mine.

The reason is simple.

If they open source codes like that, we can understand easily what the authoritative institution is thinking.

- Unfavourable parameters,

- Numerical data that you do not want to show,

- Optimistic future prediction algorithm

All of these information will be opened easily.

In short,

"Source codes has no right to remain silent."

Our engineers that can read the program, all at once to read the contents of such source code, will publish it.

# Well, this might be my work.

And, people who knew its contents, might criticise, condemn and rage in the prestigious institution.

It is troublesome for them.

So, it is better for them that "the numbers", "Statistics", "forecast" is conveniently disclosed or non-disclosed.

In this case, I knew a "counter-intuitive" fact, that means a diffusion number of columns by the SNS is, not necessarily be reflected in the PV.

"Numbers, that is not perfect"

Accidentally I had to realize that.

The other day, a colleague in seconded to affiliated companies of Singapore (I think it was), came close to my seat, I chatted with him.

A man was coming , who seemed to be his subordinates, the local employees, and we were shaking hands, and did simple self-introduction to your each other.

The colleague also introduced me as follows.

"Mr Ebata is the most famous one person in my company"

"Artificial intelligence(AI)" won that the go-master of the world, has become a hot topic.

When the family was watching the news in the living room, they asked me about the topic.

Daughter: "Dad, do you understand this "AI"?"

Ebata:"I know some basic knowledges, because I graduated from my college by thesis of mock of "AI"".

Daughter:"Difficult?"

Ebata:"If it is a simple rule-based reasoning engine, it is not so difficult. I could make three virtual personals for diet simulation"

Daughter:"What is different from this AI? "

Ebata:"My AI is not able to do anything, except for my instructions"

Daughter:"And ?"

Ebata:"However, this AI is said "to find the rules on their own, continue to arbitrarily evolution"

At that moment, I felt "the living room air is frozen"

Ebata:"Well, it's well done. I want to watch a computer that will do the government and politics and diplomacy till I die"

(Continuation from yesterday)

To tell you the truth, We have already been hijacked by computer.

Even just thinking a little,

- Railway operation management (including recovering from the accident),

- Reactor emergency shutdown system,

- Vehicle inflow and outflow control by traffic signals

It is, if not a computer, does not hardly able to control.

Some of these systems, contain the reasoning engine, and can work by their judgements.

But, I think that no system had functions that work base on their own rules at the present.

If the administrator of system don't know "what the computer is thinking", they will feel scary and cannot manage the system.

-----

A representative SF book "two faces of the future" whose author is representative, shows the concrete image of "a computer that we cannot understand".

Certainly, I think that it was a story as follow.(please examine if you are interested in it).

(1)A man ordered the work of leveling the surface of the moon to the computer.

(2)The man's work estimates period was "six months", but the computer was calculated as "15 minutes".

(3)The man tried the process to the computer, the computer made the equipment that had been waiting on the lunar orbit, dropped onto the surface of the moon. As a result, the computer completed the "leveling" the lunar surface in a way that "carpet bombing".

I remember well the phrase of the conversation, after the above scene.

"The computer, seems to have been good likely to submit the final report of the accident"

(Continuation from yesterday)

In fact, we, engineer, often see these scenes that a computer can find unexpected solutions that the engineer had not expected.

For example, I will show you a following conversation between a professor and a student.

The student who had been in charge of the study of temperature control of baking oven, show a simulation result to the professor.

# This student was going to deal with a study of "saucy" and "mackerel" in the future, however, setting it aside,

Prof.:"Ebata. why does the control of oven temperature work so well ?"

Ebata:"I don't know"

Prof.:"It is you, who made this control program isn't it?"

Ebata:"I guess that the reasoning engine is amending the control, but to tell you the truth, I cannot analyze what kind of rules work for the control"

Ebata:"Do you want me to check it up in detail? We will spend much time because I have to start making a special monitoring tools only for it."

-----

The professor skipped it and asked me another question.

At that time, the student thought

"It is O.K. if the control work well"

he heard "the professor's mind voice"

(Continuation from yesterday)

So far, the story of "human conquest by computer", has been shouted in conjunction with the roughly game.

Though you might think it is too rough, my understandings are as follows.

(1) Chess → per second with a combination of hundreds of thousands of trial, and winning human

(2) Shougi → by introducing innovative ways to evaluation method aspect, and winning human

(3) Go (this time) → to make the rules on their own, to evaluate it, and victory in human

This above (3) is different from the(1) and (2), because the computer is going to learn at their own, that human beings are not even give them.

However, the above-mentioned from (1) to (3), has the following common elements,

(A)There is a clear evaluation criteria of "win / lose"

(B)The computer can repeat enormous counts of simulation by virtual games in the computer

(C)There is infinite chances of the learning

For the computer to conquer the human race, the computer needs the enormous number of demonstration (×simulation) in the "humanity conquest game".

I short,

"The computer can not "practice" to "annihilate the human race in a one-shot deal"

So, even the computer that won this "go" game, I wonder if it is far from "mankind conquer".

-----

Now, I am thinking seriously, that

"I wonder what methods are good for conquering the human race to the computer."

(Continuation from yesterday)

If computers want to conquer human being, the ability of "getting rules by their own" seems not be enough. But even if it is the ability of "feeling fear", the conclusion might be changed.

Mr. James P Hogan wrote in his novel about "a computer that has something like "survival instinct".

"The computer will start to eliminate "human being", because the computer feel hear us, doing the system shutdown, or cutting the power"

This is a realistic possibility.

But, making progress of this logic, before the final ware against mankind,

- A sub-system raises a revolt against a main-system, because of the main-system's intention of separating the inefficient sub-system

とか、

or

- more than two computers that have different management policies, start to attack other computers in order to improve their business performance.

I think that the cyber war among computers is going first.

Because it is easier for computers to start the "cyber war", because they might know well how to fight each other.

-----

So I think that we don't have to worry about the computer's riot against human being, until we can confirm the cyber war among computers.

In company, the more a person becomes their position up, the more obscure their order becomes.

Rise the profit 10% up -> however, it is you that come to think of the way.

It is not a result -> however, it is you that think what is a result.

Why do you think such a way would go well? → However, you think the right direction.

-----

People of high-ranking job title must be considered various things at the same time.

So, I can understand that it is difficult to command a single one concretely for them .

However, without getting specific instructions, continuing to deny all, the motivation of people of low-ranking job title becomes lower, a mater of course.

-----

For example, though there are 100 potential directions, everybody can understand that less than two direction is able to do, because of the limitation of costs and HRs.

(Continuation from yesterday)

But the people of high-ranking job title has already encountered such unreasonable accidents many times and had got this position at the present. So they had known well unreasonable accidents more than others.

So I wonder.

Why don't they issue "a nice instructions to move the people feeling"?

I think that this problem should have been present from thousands of years ago when human being had invented farming, and formed the hieraruhi society.

Since long long time has gone, this problem should have been resolved long ago.

-----

I think there are three answers against this problem.

(1)Human being cannot control human being basically.

Especially it is very difficult to control them by "joy", so "intimidation" and "fear" is going to be needed.

(2)There is a limitation to control organization by Hieraruhi architecture.

It might be difficult that one person serves concurrently more than two works at the same time.

(3)Boss thinks that the boss's instructions is not effect by themselves.

Even if it is the mindless "negative", the possibility of another way becomes "rise". So they try to the time being "negative".

-----

So far, I think there are three proposals I can say, against the problem.

You prepare yourself for the worst, this problem is not going to be resolved thousand years later.

You think that it is enough that you can realize half of your boss's order

You prepare an idea of make the independent way against your company, even if it is a trivial thing.

So I don't eat much, even if I go to a expert ski course more than 20 times.

So, my body weight, although there may be reduced, can be no possible increase.

I was convinced that.

-----

This morning, I was screaming on the scale.

"+1.5kg"

"+1.5kg"

What is what on earth?

Of course, I am familiar with "weight error" however, this value exceeds the error range so far.

Smorgasbord of last week's wedding anniversary, the weekend effect without exercise, and others is not enough to explain this weight.

-----

Events that deviate from the everyday significantly, like "one person skiing" as extraordinary, have something that upsets "my body" as precision machine.

Recently, I heard a topic that an Artificial Intelligent(AI) wrote an novel and, the novel passed the preliminary of an award.

To Jump the track, however,

When I was a teenager, there was a rumor that a computer had made a decision of the story combination.

It is "Harlequin".

"Harlequin Enterprises Limited" is a publishing company in Toronto Canada, and they publish romantic novelette for middle-aged women mainly.

It was said that the scenarios of "Harlequin" book were developed a certain pattern, and the endings were almost same.

Unfortunately, I have never read the books ever, so I cannot talk about the books, indeed.

-----

In these days, when I feel tired, I go to free comic magazine web site, and read them.

In the comics, there are some "Harlequin" comic book, and to tell you the truth, they are very fun.

Let me say, it is "one pattern romantic novelette with solid history evidences, backgrounds and setting".

(Continuation from yesterday)

Heroines in the books are very intelligent and beautiful women, whose occupations are president, secretary, doctor, model and artist, and they are all single.

On the other hand, heros, who meet the above women, are very intelligent and handsome, and "rich", whose occupation are president, doctor, and artist, and

prince at oil lord in middle-east( and successor to the throne)

These line-up make me fun, and the numbers of these combination are going to be infinity.

In addition, the ending is always

"Happy ending"

-----

It it clear that the possibility of the existing women and men is extremely low.

Moreover, the possibility of the appearance of these pairs is lower than of meteorite strikes the Earth this year.

Finally the probability that these stories will result in a "happy ending" is lower than the probability of life on Mars existing.

-----

"Harlequin" is a very interest material from the viewpoint of math(or the probability) study.

Nobody can think of this funny combination, except for a computer.

Moreover I am afraid that there is one important problem of the category.

-----

I think that "Harlequin" is not romantic novelette, but Science Fiction(SF).

Spring is the season of farewell.

Farewell parties are frequently held in this period.

"Collection of messages" are still alive.

-----

I always wrote true my mind in the "collection of messages".

Last year, for a person who changes the job, I wrote just one phrase,

"It will be trouble"

Really, I thought that there became a lot of troubles, and in fact, many troubles has happened.

"To prudently support my work, sometimes, to anticipate beyond my thoughts."

It is not popular for everyone to do such workpersonship.

So I have used the phrase just twice ever.

-----

So, I can say with confidence,

When I leave, nobody is going to write in the "collection of messages".

"It will be trouble"

In poor case, I am afraid that many person will try to write

"Happy", "survive"

My new column is released, so I take a day off.

Mr.Ebata's struggling for DIY Home Security System by EtherCAT(9) "

TwinCAT that is a new paradigm of control system, commands the maids

-----

By the way,

This time, the reason why I had wrote the column of 13 pages is that I should have made "TwinCAT installation instruction" and "sample program".

If you have no plan to use TwinCAT now, I hope you will read the pages of 1,2,3,12,13 at the beginning.

You can understand What I want to present to you.

-----

In short, that is

"Drop dead, guys who want to speak buzz words frequently"
