先日、仕事で静岡県の浜松にいってきました。

The other day, I went to Hamamatsu in Shizuoka pref. on business trip.

最近、私は、コミック「ローカル女子の遠吠え」を愛読しています。

Recently, I like to read comics whose title is "a local woman's howling"

「静岡県については、かなり詳しくなった」と錯覚する程度には、読み込んでいます。

Now I think that I confuse me with "a master of Shizuoka pref." by reading the comics.

「ローカル女子の遠吠え」の中では、浜松市民が「無類のお祭り好き」として登場します。

In the comics, Hamamatsu citizen are introduced as "unique festivalgoer".

かなりデフォルメされているのだろう、と思っています(私も地方出身者なので、よく分かります)。

Of course, I know well that it is a over-deformation because I also came from a local area.

仕事の帰りのタクシーの中で、祭りの準備が進んでいて、山車(だし)も出ているのを見て、ちょっと驚きました。

While returning run in the taxi, I was surprised to find the preparation of a festival and parading a float.

あの時点で、未曾有の大型台風が、静岡を直撃することは、もう分かっていたからです。

At that time, everyone knew the greatest typhoon on record would hit Shizuoka Pref.

江端:「明日のお祭りは中止ですね。残念ですね」

Ebata:"I am sorry but the festival of tomorrow will call off"

と、タクシーの運転手さんに言ったら、

When I said that to the taxi driver, he replied to me.

「大丈夫。あの台風は、静岡市の方に向うから、明日のこっち(浜松)の祭りには影響出ないよ」

"No problem. The typhoon is going Shizuoka-city, so the festival of tomorrow will be held"

私は、『はあ、そうですか』と答えながら、どうやったら、そんな判断ができるんだろう、と、頭の中が「？」で溢れました。

While I said "it is good", I was by no means free from doubts in my mind.

『台風は「点」ではなく、暴風圏を伴う巨大な「円」ですよ』などという、無粋なことは言いませんでしたが。

Of course, I didn't say tactless word of "Typhoon is not "point " but big "circle" with storm zone"

その事実を、『意図せず、確認してしまった』と思いました。
