以前にも書いたかもしれませんが、今、江端家夫婦は、老眼が絶賛進行中です。

Old sight of both my wife and me, is progressing dynamically, as stated in my previous diary.

ですので、家の中、どこにでも、老眼鏡(100円ショップの眼鏡)が、あります。

So, we can find "reading glasses(\100)" anywhere in my house.

しかし、リビングのテーブルの上に、置かれている老眼鏡は、私が新聞を読む時に使って、そのまま自分の部屋に戻ってしまうので、

However, whenever I read a newspaper in the living room and use the glasses on the desk, I am going to take it to my room.

結果として

As a result,

―― 私の机の上に、5～6個の老眼鏡が散乱

"There are a few glasses on my desk."

という事態が発生します。

人間というのは、同時に2つ以上の老眼鏡を使うことができないので、このような「老眼鏡のインフレーション」は、あまり意味がありません。

I know that human beings cannot use more than two "glasses" at the same time, but this "glasses inflation" is meaningless.

この現象は、週末に顕著になります。

This phenomenon stands out every weekend.

私が、終日、自宅で、執筆やら実験やらをやっているからです。

Because I am doing writings or experiments in my room all the day.

という訳で、月曜日の朝、出社前に、

So, every Monday morning, I present, not

―― 両手いっぱいの花束

"Double handful of flowers"

ではなく、

―― 両手いっぱいの老眼鏡

"Double handful of glasses"

を、

to my wife,

『これを、愛する君に・・・』と言いながら、手渡ししています。

with saying "this is for you, my dear wife",
