"It is cool isn't it?"

"So cute! It can fold?"

"Both display and keyboard are compact and seem to be useful."

"likely Sturdy"

"Only voice communication is available isn't it? Oh, this can send character message. I heard this, this... let me see... It is "HAIKU" isn't it?"

"I envy you. It is fashionable. How did you get it?"

My granddaughter said "This is my grandpa keepsake, called "GARAKEI"

I have a work of a serialization about understanding current issues using numbers.

On the other hand, the politicians and bureaucrats always try to use numbers to explain about their own issues.

In short, numbers are used to befog ordinal people who don't (can't) have habits of calculations.

So I am afraid that many people who read my columns think that Ebata controls numbers in order to justify his opinions.

"If it is true, I can always enjoy my column every time."

It is opposite, to tell you the truth.

When I almost finish writing my column based on my hypothesis, the numbers destroy the hypothesis in just about no time.

The 90% of the draft at that time, is going to be disposed. I have done the accidents twice to the best of my remembrance.

Population prediction and remaining resource problem.

It become a tragedy, even if I misunderstand just one character.

For example, I calculated the deadline of oil-depletion is 2500 years, at first.

Based on this result, I wrote a column that says "You don't have to worry about oil-depletion for a certain time"

And after that, I re-calculated that, I knew the correct answer was 250 years.

Of course, I had to write "You should worry about it as soon as possible" and throw out the draft version.

-----

On my white board in my room, some enormous numbers (like 10 raised to the power of 23) are always written off.

The numbers are too big, so I cannot calculate by even Excel and electronic calculator.

Before controlling the numbers, it is me to be made a fool of by the numbers.

I told the same story to my family, and the second daughter gave me some questions as follows.

Daughter:"You cannot use Amazon and other mail-order services can you?"

Ebata:"Let you think how the consumption chances has been lost by the web sites"

Daughter:"Don't you care if you can watch animations by YouTube?"

Ebata:"Do you know the AD industry has got the damage by skipping the advertising video-clip?"

Daughter:"Let me see. You are going to fail to get the recipes of dishes in CookPad site"

Ebata:"Well, it ... "

"It is troubled. Yeah, Internet is still necessary."

Thanks to CookPad, the Internet is likely to be able to escape from criticism from me.

- giving good compliments to women at an host bar.

- cooking fried rice at a Chinese food restaurant near a station.

I am afraid that I will not be able to do the above jobs.

I should not have taught a child at home, or sold "PC-9801" at a personal computer shop(But I might had sold many PCs).

I could have had many experiments without exchanged with money, and those have given me a lot of topics.

I have regretted to be really wasteful from my heart.

Well, I might have waken up for fried rice, and gone to the way of an engineer. So I do not know what was good.

I think that it would have never been in a host bar.

Since I am not interested in professional baseball, I have no special feelings that the official match of professional baseball will not be held.

Since I am not interested in professional baseball, I have no special feelings that the official match of professional baseball will not be held.

However, I was shocked that

"My youth romantic comedy is wrong. the last episode" is postponed

Of course, to maintain the quality of the work, I endure a year, but still,

"Issuance of Declaration of Emergency based on the Act on Special Measures against Pandemic Influenza"

The announcement of this broadcast postponement was quite hard for me at the day of the issuance.

-----

In that feeling, for no particular reason, I was reading the whole sentence of

"Law against Special Measures against New Influenza"

Article 32 contains the contents of the Declaration of Emergency (paragraph 1), the period, place and outline.

What I found interesting was that the validity period of the emergency declaration was clearly stated as "not more than two years" (paragraph 2) (with an extension provision (paragraph 3)).

This seems to be due to past cases where any pandemic will become controllable within approximately two years (e.g. Spanish cold).

-----

I also examined the conditions for triggering an emergency declaration based on this law.

There was a statement that "specified by a separate ordinance", so I looked for it.

The grounds clause is

Article 6 (2) of this

(1) "When the route that could be infected cannot be identified"

and

(2)"When the public has taken actions that may spread the new influenza and the like to the public"

I roughly estimated the above two.

-----

Here, I went back to the Act on Special Measures for Countermeasures against New Influenza, and tried to pick up the subject appearing here.

The names of the nations, governments, municipalities, regular public institutions, designated local public institutions, and titles such as the Prime Minister and prefectural governors. And "Citizen" appears under the item (Obligation of the people) (Article 4).

Speaking of the people's obligations, I recall the "duty of education (Article 26, paragraph 2)", "duty of work (Article 27, paragraph 1)" and "duty of tax payment (Article 30)" written in the Constitution of Japan .

However, I haven't seen anything that mentions "national obligations" in the provisions of laws other than the Constitution, so I felt uncomfortable and fresh.

-----

And the first thing I look for when reading articles is "penalties".

In this law, Articles 76 to 78 had provisions.

(1) Persons who did not cooperate in providing goods shall be sentenced to imprisonment of 6 months or less or a fine of 300,000 yen or less.

(2) Persons who did not cooperate with on-site inspection (assuming requisition etc.) are fined up to 300,000 yen

(3) Not only the individual (1) and (2) above, but also the corporation to which the individual belongs is fined together (both penalties).

Although relatively weak, there are penalties with criminal penalties.

Well, the law may be expecting the "exposed person" effect.

-----

However, according to the provisions, it seems that maid cafes and bar bars at midnight can be "requested" but not "prohibited"

(I couldn't find it, so please let me know who found it)

So, I think that they will issue an additional government ordinance and bring "compensation for damages to business" as a "hostage" and a "virtual ban".

Well, as anyone who has learned the law knows, the phrase "as stipulated by separate ordinance" is quite "childish".

This is because the separate ordinance does not require the approval of the Diet and can be included by the Cabinet.

like "cheats at rock-paper-scissors".(However, penal regulations cannot be imposed on separate ordinances (Article 73 of the Constitution of Japan)).

-----

I think "when I access the primary information, I can know a lot more than a news program that repeats the same thing", but my great time has passed.

Let's get back to the story.

私が、

I was shocked that

"My youth romantic comedy is wrong. the last episode" is postponed

Just as I was shocked, I can think that some people are also shocked to postpone the official professional baseball game or postpone the professional league match.

In that way, we can share our disappointment. no matter how different the vectors are.

Lately, there have been a lot of comics and anime about "going back to the past".

What all these contents have in common is the prerequisite of 'retaining memories of the past' and 'recreating the events of the past'.

Well, without this kind of arrangement, the content would be unsustainable, so it may be inevitable.

-----

However, in my case, even if I had these two prerequisites, I would not wish to "return to my past.

Especially from elementary school to junior high school, it is joking.

I will never forget that "suffocating feeling".

Of course, everyone's life is "suffocating," but I think it's easier for adults because they can choose how to deal with it.

"At the very worst, we could have a suicide bomber involving the organization"

Adults should get that option.

When I was a child, the idea of "destroying" the system of adults, teachers, and schools was not possible.

Now, that idea is easy for me to do.

It would be great if children could rely on adults, but for children, adults are the enemy, so there is no way to rely on them.

Aside from that.

-----

I've been taking piano lessons since I was in elementary school -- even though I hated practicing piano to death.

I don't know how piano classes are today, but when I was a kid, they were so "dogmatic" that they were trivial.

Now, I can clearly say, "They were idiot".

Beyer, Burgmuller, Czerny... I was really fed up with those days of being forced to "play hopelessly boring music".

I'm not saying that "To improve your piano playing, it's essential to have a beautiful finger form" is all bullshit.

However, the absolute truth is that "in order to improve your piano playing, you must forget about such trivial matters as form and truly enjoy playing the piano".

-----

One example of this kind of "crazy dogmatism" is the stupid "ritual" of joining the tennis club, "freshmen are not supposed to hit the ball, but run and do strength training.

I paid my own way and quickly joined a tennis school or a ski school to learn the "techniques" in the fastest and most logical way.

I am now at a level where I can use a whole range of tennis and skiing techniques and enjoy them normally.

And, the distance I have run to improve my tennis and skiing is "0 meters".

-----

Now, after reviewing them, what I don't understand now is why I didn't stop playing the piano as soon as I could.

In 1990, the Hussein regime in Iraq launched an attack against Kuwait, which had large oil reserves. In response, a multinational force, under a United Nations resolution, launched an attack on Iraq.

Public opinion in the U.S., which at the time was averse to war, was quickly galvanized by the "Nayirah testimony" to start the war.

The "Nayirah testimony" was a radical testimony given by a young girl who identified herself as "Nayirah" after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

'Iraqi soldiers removed a newborn from a Kuwaiti hospital in an incubator and left it to die,' he said tearfully (I remember it well because it was on the news many times).

It is now known that this was "perjury" and that the girl, Nayirah, was the daughter of Saud an-Nasser a-Sabah, then Kuwait's ambassador to the United States.

"The world (including the American people) was successfully deceived by the girl's perjury, and pushed forward to the war"

(Part 2)

In 2003, the United States and the United Kingdom launched a war in Iraq.

President Bush cited the following reasons for the war, in his speeches before and after the war.

(1) Continued to possess weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons, denied the existence of such weapons, and failed to cooperate fully with UN weapons inspectors

(2) Free Iraqi civilians from the oppressive regime of President Saddam Hussein.

However, even within the UN Security Council, France, Germany, Russia, and China opposed military intervention.

Due to the veto power of the permanent members of the Council, the UN force was not activated.

The United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries formed a coalition of the willing and launched a pre-emptive strike on March 20, bombing the country.

で、

As a result,

"Not a single piece of evidence was found that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, including biological or chemical weapons"

Because of this, then British Prime Minister Blair was forced to step down (President Bush did not step down).

(Other)

-- In 1945, the United States detonated a nuclear bomb at 3,000 degrees Celsius (half the surface temperature of the sun) over the heads of non-combatant citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It is a common belief (in Japan) that this was the beginning of the division of the Allied Forces (Cold War) and a demonstration by the nuclear weapon states against the Soviet Union, which was invading Manchuria and the Northern Territories (contrary to the official view of the US government).

I cannot tolerate, in an absolute sense, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, especially its massacres of its own citizens.

Also, as a citizen of a country that is not a party to the war, I believe that the reports in Japan at this time are probably generally true.

But the reason I don't shout it out loud (writing columns, contributing, etc.) and stick to personal support is

"I have been continuously deceived by government announcements (propaganda) from all over the world"

I have bitter memories of the past like the above.

-----

I don't believe that "governments lie all the time," but when it comes to war (national defense), every government lies with high frequency.

And I, too, have been cheated, quite easily.

By the way, I cannot talk about "personal support" at this time.

I'm scribbling away and writing a conference paper in English.

(For more information on my writing style, please click here.)

This is possible because of the translation engine.

-----

Once I pitched a paper to a conference after going through an outsourced English language check, from a reviewer at the conference, I was given the following message.

"Your English sentence is not good enough"

When I reported the matter to the subcontractor as a complaint, they rushed to replace the person in charge.

This subcontractor, who always comes back with the lowest rating on the quality of my English (even though they don't have to do that (maybe my company is asking them to do it)). Anyway I had felt happy for long time.

After that, however, I stopped asking for outsourced checks.

I was getting angry at the conference.

"If you don't like my English, that's fine, and you can reject it for that reason."

I felt that.

-----

It is true that the English we non-native English speakers write may be unnatural from the perspective of native speakers.

Of course, if it 'doesn't make sense', then I guess I can't help but be criticized, but I don't agree with the comment that it is 'unnatural'.

As I wrote here, I believe that there are as many varieties of English as there are countries in the world, or as many people in the world.

I think, 'Tolerance and acceptance of English texts that you cannot read with ease is what makes us international and diverse'.

-----

I thought about it from another direction.

Recently, "otherworldly fantasy" has become popular (it is so).

So, here we assume an alternate world where 'the universal language is Japanese, and in the world of academia, Japanese is the common language of research fields' -- although there does not seem to be an element of fantasy.

If a sentence was submitted that was full of kanji errors, "te ni wo ha" was a mess, and the relative pronoun "that" was translated as "that",

'As expected, this will be hard to read'

And I, as the reviewer, might responce the following,

Huh? Does that mean that the English sentence of my paper was 'that kind of English sentence'?

And now I am suddenly feeling vulnerable.
