In this issue, I took another step forward in our analysis of the "2022 Income Doubling Plan.

As a result, I came to see this plan as a "strategy for earning unearned income with the participation of all Japanese citizens".

Well "not bad".It also makes me feel like I will also join the plan .

I was in the cafeteria just now, and I opened my iPad to Google News.

"No news on Japan's progress through the first round of the World Cup is shown"

I am a little surprised by the fact.

I realized today the power of the filtering function for online news.

If I didn't have to learn this fact from my wife, who was up at 4:00 this morning watching TV--

Until I see today's News 7 on NHK, I will have not known this fact.

Recently, actor Mr.Toru Watanabe passed away.

Also, columnist Mr.Takashi Odajima passed away.

Mr. Toru Watanabe had been obese and lost weight repeatedly, and was not obese at the time of his death.

Mr. Takashi Odajima also overcame his alcoholism on his own.

What I want to say is--

"Past neglects of health do not forgive us, even after we get out of them"

So, well, maybe I won't be 'forgiven' either -- even if I don't consume a drop of alcohol now.

My wife is now back at her parents' house in support of my mother-in-law's surgery.

So, I just received a call saying that the TV was not displaying images.

After hearing her talk, the suspicious thing seems to be the age-related deterioration of the antenna or its cable.

She called the electrician, however, he told her that it would be 5 days after.

'What am I supposed to do about the World Cup tonight?' she lamented.

Last night, I was reading material for a classmate's (international student) presentation of the research paper.

The paper is described the conclusion that 'no matter what technological innovations may come in the future, zero emissions will not be possible'.

Especially the "transportation field" is said to be in desperate need of help.

I can summarize the argument of this paper in my own way.

"Don't move unnecessarily"

Today's lecture, when I gave him a question of

"The conclustion of the paper's author is "Don't move, Stay home, Do your remote system", Is that Right?"

He had a annoyed look on his face -- I felt sorry for him.

-----

That said, I very much agree with 'don't move unnecessarily'.

Traveling should be as much as a walk in the park, and all work that can be done remotely should be done remotely.

The remote may be half as efficient as F2F (I agree), then just double the F2F time.

Considering the time it takes to travel, it should pay off perfectly.

-----

Having said that, I am also well aware that 'it is work that does not go according to logic.

First, let's start by stopping "moving around unnecessarily" with other "remote" people who can "hold" each other's hands.

(1) The enactment of the Victims Countermeasures Bill means that the existence of the perpetrator (formerly known as the Unification Church) has been concretely recognized, right?

(2) As to whether or not that perpetrator can continue to qualify as a religious corporation, we Japanse can confirmed that the Family Association for World Peace and Unification (formerly known as the Unification Church) has confirmed that our country (Japan) is ineligible as a religious corporation based on the "religious law personality theory," which is the basic concept of the status of religious corporations, right?

(3) However, in our country, "freedom of religion" is an absolute right of our people.

From the above, it follows that

(Step.1) The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) will quickly issue an order to dissolve the former Unification Church (revocation of its status as a religious corporation).

(Step.2) The former name of the Unification Church can continue its activities (fraud, solicitation) on a personal basis even after losing its corporate status. Translation results

(Step.3) From now on, we will personally identify the perpetrators of the old name Unification Church and destroy them one by one with criminal and civil penalties, either through the new Victims' Protection Bill or the old law (fraud).

I think that the above flows will be enough.

------

I'm reading this proposed law right now.

I think that the idiots (formerly known as the Unification Church) have led to "government intervention" being explicitly stated in our nation's "freedom of religion" doctrine (Article 7).

This is a threat to most religious organizations in Japan, which operate based on the "good faith theory of religious institutions".

The reason is that it would allow the government arbitrary control over religion.

One of the biggest sins of what those idiots (formerly known as the Unification Church) did was to let the legislature of Japan, a nation that is tolerant and moderate -- some would say "indifferent" -- toward religion, create such a bill. to create such a bill.

If they want to force people to make fraudulent donations (a crime), then

"Limit the amount and scale to a level that will not cause social problems"

They(formerly known as the Unification Church) are so hopelessly stupid that they cannot even "operate and manage crime"

To be clear, the designated gangsters are far more intelligent.

I just finished reading "Golden Kamuy." It was interesting.

If you find this interesting, I would like to share this book with you.

Yoichi Funado's "Ezochi Bekken" (A Case of Ezo)

It is very difficult to describe the "awesomeness" of this book.

I can at least guarantee that the line 'Japan is a mono-ethnic nation' will not come up in your subsequent life.

-----

I think there are fewer books by Yoichi Funado-san that I have not read.

And one such book I would personally recommend is

"A Chronicle on Sand"

And I personally want to have all the volumes of "Manshuukoku Engi" (seriously).

However, we don't have the space for them in our house anymore, so we have them preserved at the library (selfishly).

-----

I realize that the reason I can get excited and enjoy Yoichi Funado's books so much is because I was taught the basics of world history and Japanese history (especially modern history) during my compulsory and higher education studies.

I'm really sorry to repeat myself over and over again -- but I think the purpose of studying is not to get in school or get a job, but to 'go your life a Disneyland'.

-----

Well, I am well aware that these words do not resonate with the ongoing teenagers.

Even when I was a teenager, I would have thought this.

-- "Don't talk about what you like with a smug look on your face, you old man!"

I, finally, could not get into "Mobile Suit Gundam".

I guess I'm not a fan of humanoid robot content

I was "hooked" on "Aldnoah Zero," which is (probably) a work in the same vein.

-----

By the way, I think Kazuma Kamaike's masterpiece is "Heavy Object" by far, rather than "A Certain Series".

-- He really understands the weaknesses of computers and systems.

Kazuma Kamaike's deep thoughts and insights into programmatic AI technology made me, an IT engineer & researcher, groan.

Now let's return to the main subject

-----

I'm watching the current season of "Mobile Suit Gundam, Witches of Mercury," because I really liked the opening song of the anime.

From there I learned about a singer (group?) called "YOASOBI" -- I knew at least the name.

I was surprised to find the song "Halcyon" in the "YOASOBI" lineup.

"Singing about my use of "sleeping pills" during a time of severe insomnia"

I was impressed by this group of singers, who are well versed in pharmacology and understand insomnia, which is now a national disease.

-----

It was another "Halcyon".

Needless to say, 'criticizing cults' is really a matter of life and death.

Recently, a university professor who had been making radical statements was attacked by thugs on campus (the connection to the cult is unknown at this time).

I also personally know someone who was shot at with an air rifle (I think the assailant was either from the Unification Church or the Tannisho Study Group).

-----

Cults cannot be countered with logic -- or rather, they are cults because they do not have proper logic.

It just can't be helped that 'cults can't explain their actions with logic.

It is only natural that something metaphysical, such as "love" or "God," should be incompatible with something physical science.

Religion is significant in that it continues to live on after being continually criticized by physical science.

It is not possible to "defend against criticism."

Hence, religions should behave like the followings.

"We have survived for more than 1,000 years with the support of the people, no matter what you say"

"You will be dead in less than 100 years and forgotten in a few days, so I don't give a damn about your opinion."

Like the above, religions are important not to move against any criticism. Well, if they can survive for more than 1,000 years.

-----

In my personal opinion--

If "cults continue to exist loosely in social life," then it seems disingenuous to attack them with logic.

Therefore, I basically do nothing about cults that do not come into my territory.

I will not start an argument (fight) with them.

However, I will buy "arguments (fights) that have been sold" and I do not intend to lose.

-----

What makes cult activities problematic is that cults engage in antisocial activities -- soliciting exorbitant donations, etc. -- in social life.

And if they involve my relatives or friends in such a situation, I will be sure that 'they sell me(Ebata) a fight here'.

If that happens -- regardless of whether it is metaphysical or physcal science , it will be all-out war.

-----

At one point in my student life, when I was out, I carried a tool that could be used as a weapon.

After knowing about the recent attack on a university professor, I am thinking about rearming...or rather, reattaching.

I am thinking of a "crowbar," which is inexpensive, readily available, and highly effective.

Even if I were attacked, I would want to strike back at least one blow, at the same level.

------

So -- please remember that even in these peaceful times, there is a senior who continues to hold on to the concept of "armed".

Especially those cult members who are considering "planning an attack on Ebata".

I believe that people are sometimes indifferent about the weapons they have.

However, when it comes to programming, it is possible that the public's understanding of programming is low.

In fact, the program is one of the most difficult intangible assets to value

-----

I don't know of anyone to try it at all.

I didn't know that it was a big ski resort in the backwoods nearby (about 15 minutes away) , so I decided to going that.

If you have been reading my columns, you may know that I cover an insane amount of my writing (over 50% of the paper) with charts and photos.

This year, I wrote a paper that I submitted in the form of a mostly spoken column.

I contributed my paper with the thought, "Even If rejected, I don't care," but thankfully, I received a paper award.

In my opinion -- I think that what is definitely lacking in academia today is "compassion".

"5 Centimeters per Second" is a masterpiece by director Makoto Shinkai.

But for me, as a senior, "5 Centimeters per Second" is

# I just ran a verification simulation and it seems to be much slower (around 1 centimeter per second

Note that this speed calculation does not include the time between arrival at the restroom and removal of clothing and seating on the toilet seat (which further reduces the speed).

The audio output (from earphones) of my newly purchased PC is indistinct (i.e., only the singer's voice sounds filtered and distorted).

I changed my normal tires to snow tires today because I feel that snow is about to arrive.

Perhaps because I have already done the process close to 10 times, I am now able to finish the process in about 30 minutes.

However,

I have learned this through many painful experiences. Therefore, I paid particular attention to my "waist" and "fingers.

I've been getting excited with the feeling of 'I'm saving about $5,000 on a DIY tire change'

Lately, I feel that the work has become obligatory and the elation that I felt in the beginning has dropped.

I suddenly retrieved the overall distance of the N-BOX so far from the HONDA portal site and found it to be 27,250 km.

It is roughly 3/4 of the distance around the entire circumference of the earth.

Basically, I only use the car to go back and forth between the train station or Supermarket and my home, but even so, it is still 1.5 round trips to and from Colorado, USA.

However, I believe that this kind of "totalitarian" view of things has its merits and demerits.

-----

For example,

(1) If I can improve myself by 1% every day, one year from now I will be (1+0.01)^365 = 37.8, or 38 times what I am now.

(2) I just wasted one sheet of paper a day. However, if all the people in the country implemented this, one billion sheets of paper per day would be wasted(*).

(*) This seems to be a phrase often used by students in their self-criticism during the Chinese Cultural Revolution.

(3) If Japanese TVs were unplugged, the savings in standby power alone would be enough to shut down all the power plants in Shikoku.

I think these are the equivalent.

-----

As for (1) above, I think "1%" is used to mean "small", but many of us do not have that "1%.

Edison is said, "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% effort," which is what he meant (we are mediocre).

On the other hand, considering (3) above, the "power-saving request" issued by the government now seems to be quite effective.

Aside from that.

-----

Now, the next year, 2023, will be the year that I predicted as early as 2014 that this would be the year that Japan's electricity use would begin to decline.

Due to the prior shutdown of facilities by electric power companies in conjunction with deregulation of the electric power industry and the shutdown of nuclear power plants, it is clear that there is no "electricity surplus" at this time.

However, what the actual "power usage fee" is is another matter.

After a little research, I found that there is already an article that says "Japan's electricity consumption has decreased by 12% in 10 years" -- but -- I'm not sure what it means.

In any case, next year, I will do a proper data reading and objectively summarize my predictions from 9 years ago.

In psychology and economics, theories (mathematical formulas and logic) are developed by considering human beings as homo economicus -- people who act only on the basis of "economic rationality" and in an "individualistic" manner.

However, when OSS (Open Source Software) came along, the essay "Kyan and Bazaar" presented the argument that this image of the human being, at least for software engineers, "may not be true.

To sum up this essay in a few words,

"People will act even if no profit is gained"

Specifically,

"Engineers release their proprietary source code to the world even if they don't get paid for it"

as their behavior.

I also publish shoddy source code on my blog, however in my case, the reason is

"I wouldn't feel comfortable if I didn't give a little back with my programs in return for the software the world gave me for free."

I have "no" desire to actively contribute to the world. It is "nothing" at all.

However, I would like to give back to this world in a big way, because I have benefited greatly from the software world within that world.

Every day we often feel helpless regarding conflicts and tragedies around the world -- this year, in particular, has been a painful reminder of that.

I did not expect to be shown the "imperialist paradigm (of war and conflict based on imperialism)" that was popular around the first half of the last century (1930-50) in this century.

I thought the lame paradigm of "imperialism" had been abandoned long ago, but I realize that it is still valid.

I am sure there are ways to balance one's peace of mind by over-blaming one's own helplessness or offering exorbitant donations in response to such a situation.

"Do what I can and give up what I can't"

I live my life thinking that this level of "lightness" is the key to not turning away from the tragedies of the world and continuing to face them.

Anyway, I am doing what I can to "save money" and "save energy" and "publish shoddy programs".

I went to see the Caramel Box Theater Company again this year.

This year it was "The Legend of Kronos Jounter".

Naturally, I've already read the original -- in fact, I was told about it by a reader of my blog.

The Caramel Box Theatre Company, which has become a Christmas event in our home, was shown on NHK's late-night TV program.

I watched the play with great admiration.

After seeing the play, my senior daughter was thrilled to have her picture taken with the director, Yutaka Narui.

I feel like I've been seeing a lot of great things lately.

(1) Change in interpretation of "exclusive defense" for the purpose of domestic defense only after the WW2 (Change: Enabled attacks on enemy bases outside of Japan)

(2) Nuclear power plant operation policy conversion decided after the 2011 meltdown (change: new nuclear power plant construction allowed)

It is a world away from what it would have been like in 1970, when the Capitol would have been surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating against the project.

-----

What the government and ruling party have wanted to do for years, but could not, now seems to be passed with a "cabinet decision" easily.

I do not see a movement to overthrow the government at the grassroots level.

And the people think

"I can't help it"

It seems to me that there is a certain resignation. Well, at least I do.

Well, as for the legislative process from now on, although parliamentary debates are a must, we probably won't see any kind of brawl among legislators in the Diet.

It is hard to argue with good arguments and logic when presented with so many theatrical realities: the national security crisis, the energy crisis, the reality of the invasion, and so much more.

For the government and ruling party, they can only thank North Korea, China, and Russia.

-----

I think that Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a security measure is the same paradigm as Japan's establishment of Manchukuo (puppet state) as a security measure around 1930 -- I have not seen any intellectuals discussing it from that perspective.

We may be moving toward the "worst" while picking and choosing the "best" choices we can make now.

What we can do is to stand up against the dramas and movies that portray past wars (Pacific War) as if they were caused solely by a runaway military or a few fanatical militarists.

"Don't keep on fooling yourself with the same scenario. The Pacific War was an "inevitable outcome" guided by the "best" and "hope" of the time"

with "knowledge" to mumble that

I think it is important to be aware that we are also now in the same historical flow, and that we are "parties" to the worst while choosing the best.

-----

So I don't blame anyone. I will not participate in the demonstration. Because even I think that the "Cabinet Decision" is the "best (reasonable) decision at this point in time.

My only wish is that my lifespan will end before I reach the "worst" -- that's all.

Could you please provide me with the URL of the amendment that defines "mind control" as attempted by your party (I could not find it).

The ruling party said, 'We can't define it,' but the opposition parties kept saying, 'Define it,' so I am confident that you are at least making a private draft (a springboard).

If there is any reason why you cannot disclose the information, I will not ask you for any reason, and the facts you disclose in secret and only me, will also be kept confidential, so please tell me

Actually, I tried to define "mind control" in the legal text last week, but failed.

I bought a DVD (used) of the theater group Caramel Box on Amazon.

So, the DVD arrived today -- and I realized that I do not have a DVD player in my house.

To be precise, it "is" there, but I can't connect it because the TV I bought this year does not have a VCR interface.

More to the point, there are HDMI->AV converters, but I don't have the reverse direction (AV->DMI), and I know from experience that analog->digital conversion has poor image quality.

It's a hassle, but I think I'll have to rip it from the DVD and show it on my laptop.

It is effective as an "offline cyber-attack" because all you have to do is plug it into a running PC and the system goes down a second or two later.

It simply brings down the computer, but it cannot do anything like ransomware. However, it is a great way to "harass" a boss or friend you don't like.

When I read manga and novel, I frequently see fathers who, in a pathological way, forbid their children from dating men -- I think that is "fiction" and "tempestuous".

I believe that today's parents would be more concerned about the risk of their children becoming 'people who cannot fall in love in real life'

However, there are many different kinds of parents, so it may not be a "fiction" all together.

-----

I also want my daughters to find a good companion (of the opposite or same sex) and be happy, but whether or not they will be "happy" is very much a matter of "luck," and this is something we cannot control.

If this is the case, then the role of parents in their children's happiness is not to "prohibit dating" but, on the contrary, to "encourage dating" and advise "as many lovers as possible'.

I think I have the figures on marriage and divorce rates in mind for the last decade or so, but I was astonished the other day when I saw the data on marriage activity rates.

The percentage of women who "don't want to get married," rather than "can't get married," has increased alarmingly.

-----

However, the probability that the partner will not be a "good match" is high (divorce rate is nearly 40%), and our country's childcare support system is in shambles.

For example, if we consider the cost-effectiveness of the tax revenue generated by children, those who are raising four children per person should be exempt from the obligation to work and the government should provide them with a full living allowance at a level that would be acceptable (*).

(*) I believe I made a calculation somewhere that the cost-effectiveness would be about 1.4 to 1.5, but I couldn't find it (even though I wrote the column myself).

If you find it, I would be happy to hear from you.

-----

Incidentally--

In fact, there are many things that can make us happy, even if they are not childcare, marriage, or love.

And the world is full of content that you will be "unhappy" with childcare, marriage, and love, and in fact the possibility of being "unhappy" is far greater than with other events.

In comparison, there is surprisingly little content on "being happy" in childcare, marriage, and love, and surprisingly little information on "being happy" is disseminated.

-----

Yesterday, I sent the final version of my column summarizing the last 40 years or so of domestic and international research on "happiness" in this area to the editorial board.

You will be able to read it next year.

"People's advice is to refer to the reciprocal of the difference between your age's multiplied by the reciprocal of the difference between your age's and your age's."

I would advise you to do so.

For example, if you are 35, you should consider 100% if you are listening to advice from a 34-36 year old.

If the advice comes from a 37 year old, then 1/|37-35| = 50%.

If the advice comes from a 20 year old, then 1/|20-35| = 6.6%.

If the advice comes from a 70 year old, then 1/|70-35| = 2.8%.

It is good to be aware of this level.

Basically, it's 'don't listen to others'.

There was a time when advice from the elderly was important.

That was a time when there was no IT or iPS cell technology and no need to consider digitization.

Also, older people are very uncomfortable with the idea of a younger generation succeeding at something they once tried and failed at.

In other words, we must remember that advice from the elderly has a negative coefficient (sabotaging the success of others).

Why can I say that -- because I myself have a strong awareness that I have a "negative coefficient".

When I see news stories about young IT venture CEOs conducting self-driving demonstration tests, etc. I come to think

"Do fail"

I constantly feel me thinking that way.

Because I have failed in the past.

The human vessel is "smaller" than we think --- maybe it's just me.

Theatre company I want to see at least once before I die

As always, this troupe is very good when it comes to play a space-time content.

So, the DVD arrived today -- and I realized that we don't have a DVD player in our house.

How to rip DVDs (DVD->mp4 converter) of Ebata Family

Now, here we are.

My wife and I just finished watching "The time you were there, the time I'm going"

"Amazing, wonderful, brilliant. All kinds of words of praise are not enough"

I almost gave a standing ovation for the TV in the living room.

-----

I happened to be at a business hotel in front of Hitachi Station on a business trip when I started watching this play on a late-night TV program at about 1:00 am.

The play ended at 4:00 a.m. I was too excited to go to bed right away, so I went to bed for three hours and had a meeting at the factory the next day in a daze.

-----

Although--

Remembering those days, I am now convinced that I was not mistaken in my decision at the time, saying, 'Going to bed without seeing this play would not have been an option.

"If you can brainwash me(Ebata) properly, I will be a very strong ally."

This year, I could realize the phrase deeply.

-----

This year I will be working on a study of a thing called "social relational capital".

It is also known as Social Capital.

Social relational capital is a term that refers to the "trust" we have in others, the "norm of reciprocity" expressed in terms such as "give-an d-take, and the "network" that is the bond between people. It produces a 'collective cooperation' that is difficult to appreciate in the marketplace.(*)

Simply put, "social capital" is "neighborhood associations," "Bon dances," and "rice cake pounding contests.

-----

Now that I think about it, I had mentioned this "social relational capital" in my "neighborhood association" talk.

However, I could not imagine myself giving a presentation in front of many university students, saying, "To put it bluntly, 'social relational capital' means 'neighborhood associations,' 'Bon dances,' and 'rice cake pounding contests'.

-----

To begin with, I have not been actively involved in "social relational capital" at all, even if it exists.

In particular, I have criticized the "neighborhood associations" (by old people) radically.

So when I told my wife about this (the research I'm working on), she said

"Is there anyone more unsuited to this field of research (social relational capital) than you are?"

Still -- if the company orders me to do so, I must investigate, examine the mechanism, and do research on how we can turn this into an "economy", even if it is "social relational capital".

Because I am just a businessman.

The quickest way to make myself believe something I don't believe is to "put myself in a situation where I am driven to do so.

I would like to tell the religious organizations and their members with my greatest level of criticism and condemnation this year.
