I read "BRAVE NEW WORLD" written by Aldous Huxley.

For the first time in a decade, I was about to fall down from the railroad station platform with reading a book.

Firstly, I got sick with reading frightful future society and concept of the book, and no matter how many times I thought I should discard the book.

After all, I thought this book was the same of "1984", but I kept reading it in patience.

Finally, the reason why the societies were established by people disclosed and I never argued away the reasonability.

And I was about to fall down on the rails.

Yesterday, when I picked my senior daughter up at the station, we talked that my junior daughter had disposed of "Chao", her comic magazines stock.

Ebata:"The comic's target is girls who are in high-grade elementary school. She seemed to get tired of the books."

Daughter:"Maybe, so"

Ebata:"Would you try to read both the generation manga comic for both boys and girls? It might be interested."

Daughter:"What do you mean?"

Ebata:"It is non-daily life that an opposite sex who can play sports, study well, has the popularity, and handsome or beauty, is approaching me one-sidedly and loving me.

Daughter:"Well, in addition, that "me" means I who is quiet without attracting attention in a class, and does not have the popular element particularly."

Ebata:"The conclusion to be able to arrive at from our conversation is just one.

"Self-centered desire to want somebody to make me happy without making any efforts by oneself."

It is simply this word."

Daughter:"Certainly"

Ebata:"The concept of "A year-end jumbo public lottery" and "Chao" is the same as a root."

In the world, there is a person who writes consultation on the bulletin board of the Internet.

Those who do consultation on the Internet, I think there are two objectives.

(1)to ask the solution.

(2)to ask a sympathy

So, in response to such consultations on the Internet, a free ... (Correction) kind person, is likely to behave as follows.

(A) to give the solution

(B) to sympathize

(C) to preach to the questioner

I think that you understand, the above (1) - (A), (2) - (B) are paired, but (C) does not answer the question of the questioner. Moreover they also seem to be contempting the questioner.

多分、

Maybe they seem to believe that

"My words are worthy"

In the world, there are a lot of free people, and believe their way, on the Internet.

In a conclusion, this closed loop is completed, that the questioner can hurt their heart by the words of the free persons.

-----

The first thing to note is that the person who "(C) preaches to the questioner" has a lot of free time.

I naturally "leave".

To begin with, I do not have the energy to seriously consult such an anonymous person, and I also think that writing time is "a mottainai".

However, there are really many people who "(C) preach to the questioner" like this.

The reason is clear. In the end, such sermons are very "fun".

For human beings who are exhausted or who are weak in their position, It is the best entertainment to preach on an ego trip.

I can understand that feeling, but I have decided not to enter the bulletin board for consultation.((Actually I did it only once, and I regreted it."))

Even if I talk to my teenager about my job or job description, they show indifferent faces and they said "well" undecidedly.

However, when I was a student, I was a student council president, and when I was working as a director of the tennis club, they show surprised face.

Well, the achievements were pretty shabby (I don't want to explain).

Anyway, there seems to be a "title" that hits each generation.

-----

Once, the royal road of the girl manga was a success story, that "a girl who is ordinary and unobtrusive" pushes away many girls, finally get such a "boy of the tennis club director and student council president", and the girl become a steady relationship.

For example, the manga called "Aim for the Ace" was such a setting.

However, not all "boys of the tennis club director and student council president" have "value".

What he has is just a "title".

To win the tennis club at Inter High,

As a student council president, to fight with teacher's staff members, and remove troublesome rules of school festivals,

It is only when he accomplishes such difficult things, he come to have "value". But that's aside.

-----

It is the era of winning the first place of a popular character. The hero has already given up making friends and they have lived in favor of being alone. The book has sold over 9 million copies.

When I was a student, there was no content that was described as being "worthy" by being "alone."

It is too easy to say that "these social phenomena have changed".

-----

I have said to my daughters that "Never aim '100%". satisfy '70%-80%' again and again.

これは、

This means

(1)spended time from 0% to 80%

(2)spended time from 80% to 95%

(3)spended time from 95% to 100%

are almost same, and this is common sence of mathematical statistics.

I think "after satifying '70%-80%', do many what I want to do"

A person who says "making you a master is meaningful" is always a success.

I think that we should not hear the voices of "making you a master is meaningful " of the success, because the success ignores enoumous numbers of "unsuccessful master".

-----

Thus, "100%" is a combination of "slow","hard" and "discomfort". I think we shold not aim to that.

I also think that "100%" is a just result to "keep enjoying alone".

-----

In conclusion,

- my daughter should go to "all-you-can-eat sukiyaki" alone.

- my wife should get high-grade persimmons in her room

These are correct answers.

The policy of a country's education system determines the national policy of that country -- I'm pretty sure this is true (not that it's the exclusive business of dictatorships).

It is natural for countries to have different historical perceptions.

If I was born in Korea, I would argue that Korean history is legitimate, and if I was born in China, I would argue that Chinese history is legitimate.

There is no such thing as "correct history," only "the history that a country claims to have" as many countries as there are countries in the world.

It is only natural from the perspective of national interest that the history that is convenient for the country is adopted.

But that's beside the point.

-----

The policy of a country's education system will determine the digitization of that country -- I am sure of this, too.

As mentioned here, iPad is currently the most used device in the GIGA School Initiative.

So, for the next 10 years or so, I think iPad will be the definitive tablet culture in Japan.

At this point, even I, who have been resisting Linux and Android, need to "get with the times".

So, as a first step, I'm currently typing on the bullet train with my iPad, wireless mouse, and keyboard.

I also brought my familiar Windows laptop, but I can learn a new system for me by being forced to use an inconvenient environment (like on the Shinkansen).

Or rather, if the children who will be active in society in the future use iPads, then it is the fate of seniors to pander to them.

Writing on an unfamiliar iPad can be stressful for me, but that's what "pandering" is.

We have always laughed at seniors who cannot use a computer.

It is our turn to be laughed at.

It's cause and effect.

When I read manga and novel, I frequently see fathers who, in a pathological way, forbid their children from dating men -- I think that is "fiction" and "tempestuous".

I believe that today's parents would be more concerned about the risk of their children becoming 'people who cannot fall in love in real life'

However, there are many different kinds of parents, so it may not be a "fiction" all together.

-----

I also want my daughters to find a good companion (of the opposite or same sex) and be happy, but whether or not they will be "happy" is very much a matter of "luck," and this is something we cannot control.

If this is the case, then the role of parents in their children's happiness is not to "prohibit dating" but, on the contrary, to "encourage dating" and advise "as many lovers as possible'.

I think I have the figures on marriage and divorce rates in mind for the last decade or so, but I was astonished the other day when I saw the data on marriage activity rates.

The percentage of women who "don't want to get married," rather than "can't get married," has increased alarmingly.

-----

However, the probability that the partner will not be a "good match" is high (divorce rate is nearly 40%), and our country's childcare support system is in shambles.

For example, if we consider the cost-effectiveness of the tax revenue generated by children, those who are raising four children per person should be exempt from the obligation to work and the government should provide them with a full living allowance at a level that would be acceptable (*).

(*) I believe I made a calculation somewhere that the cost-effectiveness would be about 1.4 to 1.5, but I couldn't find it (even though I wrote the column myself).

If you find it, I would be happy to hear from you.

-----

Incidentally--

In fact, there are many things that can make us happy, even if they are not childcare, marriage, or love.

And the world is full of content that you will be "unhappy" with childcare, marriage, and love, and in fact the possibility of being "unhappy" is far greater than with other events.

In comparison, there is surprisingly little content on "being happy" in childcare, marriage, and love, and surprisingly little information on "being happy" is disseminated.

Yesterday, I sent the final version of my column summarizing the last 40 years or so of domestic and international research on "happiness" in this area to the editorial board.

Ebata: "This invasion of the Gaza Strip, there is not a shred of intelligence."

Wife: "To reopen the killing of unarmed civilians as 'unavoidable' is beyond unseemly."

However, it was Hamas that first launched this invasion. It is Israel's right to retaliate against Hamas.

But I think it is also a matter of degree.

I think 'if 1,000 civilians in your country are killed, 1,000 civilians on the enemy side will be collateral damage' is one possible pitfall, regardless of the pros and cons.

But they have killed 20 times as many noncombatants and continue to do so -- 'Really, I think they're out of their minds.

The "cool" Israeli military and intelligence agencies of Golgo 13 became an illusion in my mind.

Or perhaps they were 'fictions that existed only in Golgo 13 from the beginning.
