Today's blog is a sequel of "I'm sure that I look like a foolish and ignorant people who only listen to what the "boss" tells them" 2021/03/29

======

Mr. Kaoru Manabe, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau for the Elderly, who hosted a late-night farewell party for 23 people during the period of self-restraint on eating out, was given a disciplinary action of one tenth of a pay cut (one month) and transferred to the Cabinet Secretariat on the same day. This is a de facto removal from the post.

======

- Disciplinary action: Reduction of wages by one-tenth (one month)

Yeah, I can see this. In short, it's a monetary penalty (fine).

- Personnel to be transferred to the Cabinet Secretariat

I don't really understand the meaning of this personnel action. Can someone please tell me?

-----

I would like to know, from the viewpoint of

(1) Impact on the "individual" who will be punished

(2) Impact on the "organization" being punished

(3) Relevance to the "degree of public acceptance" of the disposition

objectively -- quantitatively if possible (numbers, etc.) -- the "Personnel to be transferred to the Cabinet Secretariat".

This case is being played out in terms of "common sense", "negligence", "morality", and "literacy" -- we will eventually forget this case. Absolutely.

(Continuation from yesterday)

I would like to seriously approach this case from an "organizational system" perspective.

"Why is corona literacy so sloppy in the hands of those who are in charge of leading corona literacy?"

I would like to review this from the perspective of "system architecture of corporate organizations" without emotion or subjectivity.

-----

Why didn't some officials come forward to stop this folly before it happened?

Of course, I know that "snitching on the follies of your superiors means your own death in the organization".

I'm also an office worker.

So, I understand that I can't say the right things out in the open.

However, there must have been many ways to do so, such as anonymously tipping off or informing others.

If they couldn't use the inside of the organization, they could have easily stopped it by spreading it through anonymous social networking sites.

If "no one was able to stop them," it means that the organization has an organizational culture that "what the top says is never wrong," or that the organization has no self-cleansing function.

However, in an organization of 20 or more people, there is always at least one person who can't read the air.

As I was writing this, I had a sudden realization.

I thought to myself, "Oh, so that's why sensitive information about the organization is not coming to my ears".

I (Ebata) am hopelessly unable to read the atmosphere in the organization. I am aware of this.

Well, that's aside.

There's a saying, "Action before words".

Well, leaving aside its original meaning, the purpose of this four-letter phrase, in my mind, is to say

"It's more efficient (faster, less tedious) to do it in silence, without telling anyone"

This is one choice.

A few days ago, when my second daughter came out of her room and told me she had a fever, the Ebata family was on the warpath.

First of all, after contacting my family on LINE, I put up a sign saying that the upstairs bathroom was for my second daughter only, and quickly built a DMZ (or not).

I carried the mini-table for eating into the second daughter's room, and threw the bottled drinking water into the room,

She said that she had no taste disorder and had a good appetite, I didn't think that she's infected with corona, however, I took quarantine measures as soon as possible.

And,

"I brought the food to the second daughter's room, wearing a mask and lab coat"

This was a cosplay of a medical professional.

-----

After that, my second daughter's fever came down with over-the-counter medication, so I think that this case is not (probably) caused by the new coronavirus.

I think the university entrance ceremony and the unfamiliar classes must have made her tired.

In that sense, this is the time of year when the risk of infection is high.

Anyway, my second daughter, my eldest daughter, and of course, my husband and I are always at risk of unconscious infection, so we will continue to prevent infection in our home as we have in the past.

-----

However, no matter how careful we are, there will always be times when we get infected.

Infection control measures can only "reduce the probability of infection", not "prevent infection".

"Wearing a mask" only reduces the probability of infection.

Even with "masked dinners," the probability of infection increases from time to time in proportion to the duration of the meal -- This is a natural phenomenon (not even math).

Only "individuals" can "reduce the probability" -- not "governments" (except for the state, where the actions of the people can be controlled by the will of the politicians).

Many people's immune systems will be weakened in April, when a new way of life begins.

Let's be careful with each other.

In the Ebata household, I, as the patriarch, spend most of my waking hours staring at a PC display, while most of my family members are on their smartphones, listening to music and watching videos.

This is a typical family that is not a "nuclear family", but a "nuclear individual".

However, the living room is always noisy.

That aside.

-----

One day, on "LINE" application, I received a message from my second daughter.

"Dad, tell me your birth date"

I gave it to her.

"Dad, give me your credit card number"

I thought it was a little strange, but I entered the number. This is because our family has a centralized payment system for Amazon and Netflix.

"Dad, give me the security code for the credit card.

At this moment, I was convinced that I had allowed a third party to enter my LAN and that I had been maliciously spoofed.

I hurried downstairs to the living room and said to my second daughter, "Something is happening on LINE!" I said.

-----

Apparently, she needed to register with her parents' credit card to apply for the University Co-op, so she had inquired about it.

Ebata: "What? You have to fill in the security code on the analog form? (It's quite common in online contracts)"

Wife: "It's normal these days.

Well, it was my mistake this time, but I think that 'making inquiries without properly explaining the background' is also not good.

-----

I don't put my credit card number or security code in my emails, let alone on social networking sites such as LINE.

Any information pushed on the Internet is, in principle, 'someone could be watched'.

I'm sure of it. After all, I've watched them before.

Lately, there have been a lot of comics and anime about "going back to the past".

What all these contents have in common is the prerequisite of 'retaining memories of the past' and 'recreating the events of the past'.

Well, without this kind of arrangement, the content would be unsustainable, so it may be inevitable.

-----

However, in my case, even if I had these two prerequisites, I would not wish to "return to my past.

Especially from elementary school to junior high school, it is joking.

I will never forget that "suffocating feeling".

Of course, everyone's life is "suffocating," but I think it's easier for adults because they can choose how to deal with it.

"At the very worst, we could have a suicide bomber involving the organization"

Adults should get that option.

When I was a child, the idea of "destroying" the system of adults, teachers, and schools was not possible.

Now, that idea is easy for me to do.

It would be great if children could rely on adults, but for children, adults are the enemy, so there is no way to rely on them.

Aside from that.

-----

I've been taking piano lessons since I was in elementary school -- even though I hated practicing piano to death.

I don't know how piano classes are today, but when I was a kid, they were so "dogmatic" that they were trivial.

Now, I can clearly say, "They were idiot".

Beyer, Burgmuller, Czerny... I was really fed up with those days of being forced to "play hopelessly boring music".

I'm not saying that "To improve your piano playing, it's essential to have a beautiful finger form" is all bullshit.

However, the absolute truth is that "in order to improve your piano playing, you must forget about such trivial matters as form and truly enjoy playing the piano".

-----

One example of this kind of "crazy dogmatism" is the stupid "ritual" of joining the tennis club, "freshmen are not supposed to hit the ball, but run and do strength training.

I paid my own way and quickly joined a tennis school or a ski school to learn the "techniques" in the fastest and most logical way.

I am now at a level where I can use a whole range of tennis and skiing techniques and enjoy them normally.

And, the distance I have run to improve my tennis and skiing is "0 meters".

-----

Now, after reviewing them, what I don't understand now is why I didn't stop playing the piano as soon as I could.

(Continuation from yesterday)

Recently, I realized that there is a certain explanation for this contradictory behavior in my childhood.

When I was a child, my characters were essentially "negative" -- or rather, "dark".

I had a habit of not seeing things as they appear on the surface, but trying to find the "other side" of them, and interpreting them in a "malicious" way.

(This is obvious if you read my columns and blogs, now)

The children's "winners" were what we now call "extrovert" or "lively", had many friends, didn't question things, and listened to adults.

(I know now that they were "childish.")

The opposing "losers" were what we now call "introvert" or "gloomy" as they were called then.

Even back then, I was afraid of being labeled as "gloomy" by those around me.

Naturally, being "gloomy" also meant being ostracized (what we now call "bullied").

For children who are controlled within the unit of a class, being left out means death in school life.

Basically, in the extraterritoriality (lawlessness) of "school," where the concept of law (criminal punishment) does not apply, children who are labeled as "dark-skinned" have no way to protect themselves.

Regardless of what I looked like on the outside, I was in fact a "loser","introvert" or "gloomy" and schools were "hell itself" for me.

-----

In such an environment, what I happened to carry with me was a "weapon" called "piano".

Playing the piano made me popular, mostly with girls.

It was already the ultimate weapon, no questions asked.

If you've ever taken piano lessons, you know that if you play the piano every day for two to three years, you can easily learn to play by ear by yourself.

In addition, you will be able to play anime theme songs, popular songs, etc. on the piano using both hands -- not the main melody, but the performance.

With this, there is no way you won't be popular.

The piano I was playing was always surrounded by several girls.

You might be thinking.

I think so too.

But, you know, I've never told this story to anyone else.

I have never done this to my wife or my daughter.

Do you think it's possible that I'm not telling you about this delicious boast?

No, no. It's not possible.

There is one thing that comes to mind for me right now.

Even I couldn't believe it, but maybe I was "desperate".

The "loser", "introvert" or "gloomy" had to survive in the "hell" of school.

Though I am pointing out the inadequacies of the school system, criticizing teachers for their lack of knowledge, and worrying about children's narrow view, I was just afraid of bullies and thinking of ways to escape from them, and was

That's why I couldn't let go of my weapon of choice, the piano, which I hated to death -- until I was in the eighth grade.

I see. There is no way I can talk about such a shameful thing. It's no wonder I've unconsciously sealed it away.

(Continuation from yesterday)

So what happened in the eighth grade -- I became the president of the student council of my middle school.

I know that the "student council president" is not the character that the public envisions them to be.

First of all, anyone trying to do something like this is "flattered by a good teacher", "pushed", and "simple enough to get into the mood".

And I know that the student is a good fit for the teachers -- a student who is quick to judge, obedient to the teacher, and easy to control.

In other words, it was "me.

Even if there were, I can see now that by obtaining the status of "Student Council President," I protected myself from giving up at the last minute to continue being myself.

Anyway, this (the title of student council president) became the equivalent exchange for the so-called "piano" weapon.

Thus, I was finally able to discard the piano, which I hated.

-----

After entering university, I was freed from the concept of "class," and finally felt that I could breathe easily.

- I didn't need symbols like "buddies" and "friends.

- I could make decisions about relationships based solely on how much I like or dislike a person.

- I didn't have to be controlled by others / control others

- I could "decide" how to live your life with "self-responsibility"

It was during these days that I realized that the hard times were finally over.

Lately, there have been a lot of comics and anime about "going back to the past".

However, in my case, I would not wish to "return to my past.

(1) "Rabbit jumping" only hurts your legs and feet, and breaks your body rather than building a sports physique.

(2) As for "water intake during exercise," it is a big mistake to say, "You must not drink a drop of water because your body will get exhausted." On the contrary, "You must actively drink water to prevent heat stroke.

(3) Cholesterol intake is increased by mayonnaise, but the risk of death is greater whether cholesterol levels are high or low, and the risk is greater when cholesterol levels are low.

-----

Can you imagine my shock when I was told these things?

When I was a teenager, I was forced to do "rabbit jumping" under the blazing sun in an athletic club, and I was forbidden to drink water. To be honest, I would like to claim damages for (1) and (2).

(I don't know who I should file a lawsuit against.)

My father loved mayonnaise, but my mother forbade him to consume it. If my father had heard (3), I think he would have been angry, behind the grass.

Because these (1) to (3) were said to be "correct" from the perspective of medicine and science.

I think that there have been many of these things, and there will be many more.

This is inevitable.

So, you know.

"Masks had no effect on the new corona infection"

The possibility that such an announcement will be made in a few years to a decade is not "zero".

Such a future may be coming.

In that future, "mandatory masks for coronary disasters" will be introduced on TV variety shows, and

(Continuation from yesterday)

However, form the information from a doctor that I have trusted, and as a result of my own all-out papers research and numerical analysis,

"Masks are absolutely effective in preventing new coronary infections"

I am absolutely convinced that.

The reasonings behind this are,

for this, and

for this, and

for this, and

for this, and

for this, and

for this,

they are composition, proofreading, research, and writing.

-----

I don't just believe what people tell me, I've been taught, I've done my own research, I've done my own thinking, and I've written my own conclusions.

"If the result is laughed at in the future, I don't mind it"

I will defiantly declare in the future.

On the other hand, to the people of the future who laugh at me in the past,

"Even your present common sense may be laughed at in the future"

"Are you doing enough to be able to say, "It's always the result of my own thinking and action", so it's okay'?"

I am going to be even prepared to argue with them.

-----

In the case of the corona disaster, I "overwhelmingly recommend" the use of a mask.

Why am I doing ?

This is because the cost-effectiveness is unbelievably high and the sunk costs are endlessly low.

This is because there is a difference of about 147,000 light years between the advantages gained by wearing a mask and the disadvantages lost by not wearing a mask.

In other words, "intense pain, serious illness, and worst death" v.s "instant (seconds) ridicule 10 years in the future".

-----

Well, it's "you" who chooses to use the mask, or not -- however,

that doesn't mean that "you have the right to not wear a mask, anywhere, at your will"

This is because the above cost-benefit discussion does not include "third parties other than you".

-----

As a natural thought,

The act of "I don't believe in masks at all, however I wear masks for people who do believe in them" is

- neithor self-contradictory, nor self-deceptive,

- a common act in the socially accepted sense,

- a super, super, super low-cost approach to building a mutually pleasant society

です。

-----

And well...

I am truly dismayed that there are still some "hopeless and devastated idiots" left who can't even do this level of logic (calculating costs and social conventions).

The other day, I finished watching the movie "Fukushima 50," which I had recorded on my HDD recorder, in 10-minute segments every day.

I think it was a good movie.

In particular, the fact that "they needed to get close to the accident site (reactor) to get it under control, but we could not"

I think it is important to realize the fact that we depend on such troublesome things in our lives.

I have many other thoughts on the subject, but I would like to refrain from discussing them today.

Nevertheless, it would be a shame to let "Fukushima 50" make you think that you understand the accident.

I would like to attempt a "nuclear accident orientation" here.

-----

First up is the classic manga "Die Energie 5.2☆11.8" by Jun Mihara.

And then there is Kaoru Takamura's "God's Fire", a teaching book on how to attack nuclear power plants, which I have quoted many times before.

And for a physical attack on a nuclear reactor, it's Keigo Higashino's "Bees in the Sky".

If you have read them it is relatively easy to understand that 'the moment the nuclear power plant is taken hostage, we are sure to lose.

------

According to "response to the nuclear accident",

You read my column, and ,

the summary is also "Countdown Meltdown" by Yoichi Funabashi.

Of course, there are many other things I could mention, such as the difference between light water reactor type and heavy water reactor type, or the story of the fast breeder reactor Monju, but the above contents are enough for now.

------

So, actually, that's all the preamble.

In the last few days, there's been a lot of fuss (although I honestly don't feel like there's much fuss).

It is believed that the Fukushima nuclear accident was caused by an unexpected tsunami.

But I'd like to give it some thought.

Even if that "unexpected" is true, the tsunami did not directly damage the reactors.

The tsunami only incapacitated the backup diesel generator and its peripheral equipment.

-----

So what if I recruited about 10 terrorists, trained them for about three years in sabotage, and then broke into the Fukushima nuclear power plant?

What if we used dynamite to bring down all the transmission towers, destroy the diesel generators, and then overpower the power plant with weapons and holed up all the people in the building as hostages?

Instead of waiting for the fuel rods to dissolve, why don't you threaten the staff with a gun and make them pull the fuel rods out of the central control room and leave them there?

Why don't I just kill a few hostages at a time, just enough for the police to see, and make sure no one gets into the nuclear power plant?

Of course, as terrorists, my fellow terrorists and I have no desire to save our own lives from the start.

-----

Will the special forces be able to properly kill all of us terrorists, assuming civilian casualties, before the radioactive nuclear fuel gets out of hand?

It seems to me that "creating" another Fukushima nuclear accident is not that difficult.

-----

Unfortunately, this idea is not my original, but I stole it from the last scene of "God's Fire" (written by Kaoru Takamura).

In this book, the protagonist and his friend, just two people, successfully attack a nuclear power plant on a winter night and open the lid of the reactor containment vessel.

Moreover, the meticulous planning was not at all unreasonable, even for the reader, and seemed feasible enough.

It seems to me that to prevent such a terrorist attack, a squad of armed men would have to be placed at every operating nuclear power plant in Japan.

===== to here ======

And another thing.

===== from here ======

Let's try to make the story simpler, shall I?

What would happen if a neighboring country, which is not on good terms with our country, overstepped the bounds of "brinkmanship diplomacy" and launched a missile attack or air strike on all of Japan's nuclear reactors?

In a matter of seconds, the land and water will be contaminated with radiation, and the majority of the people will be exposed to radiation at the cost of their lives.

Many people may not know this, but in 1981, Israel actually bombed a nuclear power plant in Iraq (Operation Babylon).

When it comes to war, anything is possible.

I am shocked that so few people are shocked or outraged by this news.

"I thought that anyone who had seen Fukushima 50 would be able to figure out that they could have created exactly the same situation (up to and including the reactor containment explosion) by simply dynamiting the power plant by hand, without submerging it in the tsunami.

By the way, if a country to the north of the Korean peninsula decides to attack our country, they don't need a continental ballistic missile equipped with nuclear weapons.

A single launch of a semi-medium-range ballistic missile, capable of flying 1,200 kilometers, into any one of Japan's 54 operating nuclear reactors (nine of them) would be "game over.

I am an engineer who is not loved by the English, but I am forced to read vast amounts of English every day.

Once, when I was tuning the system at my wife's parents' house, my mother-in-law said to me, 'Well, it's great to read so many horizontal letters'

Oh, I see. I've just realized that this is also English.

But when engineers struggle with these messages from the computer, they am not 'reading' English.

They are 'observing' the word.

They don't need to read the English that comes up on the computer console.

In short, if they find any of the above words, they've failed -- that's all they need to know.

-----

After all, "creating a system" means as same as

"They will just keep changing the way they do things over and over again until they don't see these messages anymore"

I also draw illustrations (digi-e) to insert in my columns, but it is always very hard for me.

As I am not a talented artist, I have used other works as a reference.

Therefore, I have a hard time changing the gender and physique of a person, and even if I want to change the camera view (point of view), I can't handle it at all.

I truly envy those who have the talent to paint.

-----

I was talking to my second daughter about this, however she said to me smoothly,

"Anyone comes to draw if they study drawing properly for a month"

When I heard that, I was about to say

"That's the opinion of the gifted !"

However I noticed that it was me to say

"Anyone comes to program if they study programming properly for a month.

And I seriously believe that.

In fact, most people who say they can't program have never written a line of code in their lives.

Therefore, I believe that anyone can program.

-----

I, on the other hand, a person who has demonstrated the "counterexample" of

"If you stay in the U.S. for a year, you'll be able to speak English easily"

Furthermore, I was the one who made the story into a series of articles for two years.

-----

Anyway, for my second daughter's saying,

"Anyone comes to draw if they study drawing properly for a month"

I was ready to give it some serious consideration.

"To give money to children for helping out at home"

This is a thesis that appears again and again, and each time it is criticized and condemned.

However, I used this approach openly when I was preparing my second daughter for her junior high school entrance exam.

"She will receive 50 yen (coin), if she coudl recite Japanese history year/event pairs (500+) to the end without looking at anything and without making a single mistake"

We did this every day.

-----

The Ebata family called this method "air" because it was done without looking at anything and while facing the ceiling.

We have also extended this method to science and social studies in general.

Anyway, she was able to successfully pass the entrance exam to her school of choice.

(For more information, please see Yukari-san Project)

-----

For my second daughter and me, the 50 yen was not a reward, but a token, a 50 yen coin.

This method is a mindset that allows both parents and children to find meaning in collecting metal tokens, rather than the monetary value of 50 yen.

Therefore, I believe that this method is not the same as a "to give money to children for helping out at home"

Studying for exams is a tedious process for anyone.

Especially for elementary school students, adult logic does not apply.

This is because elementary school students are not adults.

Then, parents must try various ways to set the mindset of their children.

I know it's a hassle, and most of those will fail.

Nevertheless, parents live longer than their children, so they must continue to try their efforts.

Recently, I've been recording a lot of re-runs of NHK Special (N-Spec) on BS.

However, I watch the reruns every 10-15 minutes during my lunch, so the recordings keep piling up.

"Looks like contaminated water with tritium"

My conscience scolded me for even thinking about it for a moment, saying, "Don't be silly!" (It's true).

-----

Today, I finished watching "The Complete Record of the Road to Decommissioning, Nuclear Fuel Debris, and the Decision Under Pressure," which was broadcast in 2016.

Can I be clear at this point?

"Fukushima 50"

I thought it was much more "awesome" than "Fukushima 50.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and respect for the engineers who continue to fight at the front of the accident site and for their technical capabilities.

N-Spe is really great. I pay NHK's subscription fee for "N-Spe" -- it would help my family budget if the subscription fee was a little lower.

-----

Ebata: "Well, you know, most people can't think of this program as 'great' or 'moving'.

Wife: "Yes, you're right. I don't know if I want to 'spontaneously watch' this show.

It's not unreasonable.

It is inevitable that engineers who have worked in the field and have both the "numbers" and the "digits" to understand the threat of radiation are a small percentage of the Japanese population.

-----

I was shocked when I heard that the debris extraction passage was measured to be "10 Sievert".

I'd like to see TV stations and TV programs use the same unit of measurement -- "millisievert" here, and say "10,000 millisieverts".

The following is an excerpt from Kaoru Takamura's "God's Fire (Volume 2)," which I have quoted many times in the past.

------

"Listen, Sousuke. The kind of radiation that can kill a person is more than 3000 to 4000 millisieverts.

The only way to be exposed to such a huge amount of radiation all at once is to have an accident like Chernobyl, where the core melted and was exposed, or a nuclear bomb.

So I want you to think of it this way.

The permissible radiation dose line for a person to live a healthy life is 5 millisieverts per year.

One x-ray of the stomach is about 4 millisieverts. The radiation emitted from a nuclear power plant is less than 0.05 millisieverts per year.

It is definitely more than that. It may affect some people's health. That's what I mean when I say dangerous.

-----

A direct hit from a nuclear bomb is 11,000 millisieverts, which means that the "debris extraction" pathway mentioned in the program continues to spread radiation that can kill humans instantly.

(It may be a little better now, though).

-----

Anyway, regarding the government's decision to release contaminated water containing tritium, a radioactive substance that has been increasing at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, into the ocean,

Whatever the merits of that decision, as far as this case is concerned.

"I am one of the Japanese who is not even a millimeter upset about the release of contaminated water"

I will assure you about this.

-----

Incidentally, when the reactor containment vessel exploded (or more accurately, when I heard the radiation readings in front of the power plant),

I was a person who had packed my car with all the drinking water and food, and was ready to run away.

It has been learned that five of the participants in a banquet held in Ginza, Tokyo last month by 23 employees of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare have been newly infected with the new coronavirus. This brings the total number of infected banquet participants to 12."(From the news article)

-----

The content of this article alone does not provide "physical evidence" to identify the banquet as the direct cause of the infection -- well, it's "circumstantial evidence" enough.

"The main cause of new coronavirus infections is "banquet""

That's enough to "confirm" it.

-----

The fact that the subject was an "employee of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare" gave it a whole new level of credibility.

To order restaurants to cease operations is to restrict "private rights", which are the foundation of democracy.

The utmost care should be taken in its operation.

However, it is rare to see such a convincing "endorsement" of "restrictions on private rights".

If I don't change the password of your company's business system every three months, I will not be able to access the system. Therefore, I have to do it.

I also change the passwords of all my private systems at the same time, and the number of passwords is 16 (as of now).

It takes at least two hours to make all the changes, so I try to make sure I have enough time for this.

I have made a memo of all the procedures so that I can shorten my work time, but some systems changes the specifications on its own within three months, which is quite annoying.

In addition, we are also taking a full backup of our website to coincide with this occasion.

If not handled with great care, it could accidentally destroy the system, so it is done with a great deal of caution.

Recently, I've been reading AWS Inspector, a report that AWS gives me to check my cloud environment.

That's what the report is about, in a nutshell, included the information of

"Eighteen different cyber attacks are possible on my site"

I could barely understand it, but I did understand the methods of the communication API, albeit vaguely -- to be honest, I was a little pale.

-----

Changing passwords is the most basic of security measures, but it is very effective.

The company is holding the business system hostage and forcing employees to change their passwords, which is, well, good ways.

Amazon and Google should also take this "hostage strategy" -- I think.

However, when I think about the mountain of complaints that will come from customers due to the expiration of passwords, I can understand why they would not want to do that.

I can't hear the theme song for the Tokyo Olympics--

Even for the Olympics held overseas, the theme songs were played at the top of the sports section of NHK news, annoyingly.

This time, I can't hear this.

Also, there is no news about the local towns that host foreign athletes.

There is no news about the entry of the first group of foreign athletes into Japan (although, of course, I'm sure they will need to go through special entry procedures at the immigration office this time).

In the first place, the torch relay is not shown on the news every day -- How can this be?

-----

Of course, I can explain.

It is possible that the government is not actively disclosing this information and the media is refraining from doing so because they do not want to create a situation where people will be attracted by the torch relay.

Even If they are "controlling public opinion to keep the torch relay from gaining momentum," this is a form of information control that would surprise even Goebbels.

Nevertheless, if the decision to cancel the Tokyo Olympics has been made in secret, it would be a major problem in terms of international credibility if the talks have not already started through diplomatic channels.

-----

I am one of those people who have no vested interest in the Tokyo Olympics, so I can remain relatively calm, but the Tokyo Olympics is also a huge social experiment field in which companies and universities are all participating.

However -- nothing is coming into my ears.

Also, is there a gag order on Ebata -- maybe so.

I'm "tight-lipped" but "light on sentences".

I saw the news of the third emergency declaration and the images of people gathering in the park to drink soju and beer at the same time, thinking,

"I wonder if they want to drink so much"

I have refused to drink now, but,

I am the one who has been exposed to these abominations.

So I think he understands the "fun of drinking".

Sometimes I ask myself.

"At the time, I wondered if I would have done such a foolish thing even if I had been in a 'lethal infectious disease and the state was issuing a state of emergency"

(Continuation from yesterday)

By the way, I have a morbid aversion to "crowding" now, but when I was young, I drank, made noise, and crowded as much as anyone else.

Especially when I was a teenager, being isolated from the "crowd" had the same impact as a "death sentence".

So, what we call "bullying" generally manifests itself in the form of "isolation from the crowd".

"Live of Real Time Executions" - there are not many shows that are as entertaining and cruel as this one.

Bullying does not create a voluntary deterrent because the perpetrator can be instantly turned into the victim.

Well, let's not talk about that today.

-----

My current 'escape from the crowd(*)' is quite thorough.

(*) Of course, this is a parody of Erich Fromm's "Escape from Freedom".

I can't remember exactly how I came to be in this state.

In terms of time, I think it was "around the time I started writing the column" -- I'll think it over again.

-----

Anyway, I think it is quite difficult to tell young people not to crowd together or not to drink.

This is because within the "fun" of these actions lies a latent fear of "isolation from the crowd = ostracisim".

I suspect that the fear of the "ostracisim" is far greater and more concrete than the fear of a new corona infection.

There are people in the world who give you reckless orders.

The guy who, will push it by using the convenience of the organization, even if you explain that it is absolutely impossibility or difficulty, using

"If it's so important, why don't you, uh, do it yourself?"

But it's hard for a salaried worker to say that.

-----

However, in my long career as an engineer, there has only been one boss, who said

"Ebata-kun. Since you seemed to be very busy right now, I wrote a patent specification for your invention with you as the first inventor. Can I apply for a patent?"

I still think that I would be 'willing to die' for him.

"Mr. 0, how are you doing?"

In yesterday's diary, I wrote about my boss who wrote the patent specification for me.

That reminded me of this story.

"I want to thank you all for your tremendous efforts. Can I say thank you again?"

However, while this story is a good one in one respect, it also has a frightening implication in another respect.

-----

When I was posted to the U.S., I was an "employee, etc." as described in Article 35 (Employee Invention) of the Patent Law.

At the time, I had no idea what the future held for me as an "employer, etc." (manager).

Even now, I have not been aware of this.

However, I believe this is a major, fatal problem.

This is because working with the mindset that you are an "employee, etc." will result in

"the people around you working in violation of the law"

In fact, I even wrote a column about it myself.

-----

However, this time, I was about to do "this".

On the contrary, I may have already done it, many times.

If you receive a warning from the company's line, you will have to write a letter of apology, and in some cases, you will be subject to punishment under the Labor Law, and in civil cases, you will obviously be found guilty of power harassment.

Let's use a concrete example.

Before the end of the workday on Fridays, You say to your subordinates "Please do this work, and submit it at the start of work on Monday"

In other words, it's all about

It's a sense of naivety, of thinking, "It's not my team's problem.

This is really, really scary, I thought.

-----

"I want to thank you all for your tremendous efforts. Can I say thank you again?"

There is a devilish suggestion in this phrase that makes you break the law, break the rules.

(This is sometimes referred to as the "motivation" scam.)

Let's be really really careful.

If you don't have a strong awareness of it, "It doesn't matter to my team" will be invoked unconsciously -- really.

Anyway, I am a person who

"I'm only this competent" even though I always talk like an great.

I reaffirmed this with desperation.

-----

Now, there must be many bosses in Japan who don't tell you to "work for GW" but implicitly force you to do so.

Such bosses may not be doing it arbitrarily, but may simply be unaware of the "violation" of the law.

At any rate,

I recently read a column by an engineer named Ebata. It was quite interesting. Especially this one.

It may be effective to casually send the URL of this page to your boss, saying with that.

It's a small price to pay if it makes your boss aware that she/he is going to "breaking the law".

I heard a story about an old man at a soapland who, after receiving a service, said, "You can't do this kind of work!" like a moralist, to the lady who provided the service.

When I heard this story, I thought -- vulgar, stupid, disgusting with all kinds of words, I hope this old man should die.

On the streets of Shibuya, under a declared state of emergency.

or

"I feel like there are more people here than the previous emergency"

People who are interviewed like critics seem to me to be the same as the "old man" mentioned above.

And the TV production personnel who give such interviews and broadcast the same kind of comments every day also look like 'vulgar' guys.

I would be too embarrassed to ever give an interview.

If I were in the position of an interviewer, I would ask the following questions.

"How do you feel about the fact that your presence here may result in the loss of lives that could have been saved and the cancellation of the Olympics?

If I were to be asked such a question, I would follow my conscience and say, loudly and with my heart on my chest.

"Who cares?"

I've had my fill of street interviews.

I don't want to listen to the "ramblings" of "vulgar old men" who can only talk about the same things.

The news is good enough for me if you just tell me the actual measured data and how the prediction engine works.

Today, new my column is released, so I take a day off.

Dancing Buzzword - Behind the Buzzword (12) Blockchain(6)

The madness of "burning Banksy's painting and turning it into NFT.

-----

I have always declared the following.

(1) "I don't want a grave.

(2) "No funeral necessary.

(3) "There are no restrictions on the removal of my body parts (eyes, ears, nose, brain, and everything else) as long as it is for the purpose of transplantation to another person.

(By the way, since I don't intend to be of any use to medical students, I have also declared that "the use of my body parts for academic purposes is absolutely prohibited.)

However, I have set myself the task of "Completely completing the pre-processing of these things by myself before I die.

"If I want to get what I want, I have to sweat it out myself"

Whether it's a will or not, such things are a given.

To tell you the truth, I'm thinking about my own dead body, "It would be easier if I could take it out as garbage on Monday"

I don't think it's possible, though, because it would be a legal crime called "abandonment of a corpse".

-----

"NFT" is like a tombstone.

I think that.

So called link tag of "spirit".

The grave is important for those who believe in the "spirit"

I don't think we should deny that feeling.

However, do you know this?

The duration of most cemeteries is, at most, 50 years.

After that, the land is reclaimed or cleared and converted to residential land.

Your house or apartment may be built on top of the remains.

I don't think that should be a surprise.

Logically speaking, if the graves of people over 100 years old (excluding celebrities and tourist attractions) are still there, there should be no more land left in Japan.

Some of you may say, "No, it's not!

Then, please read my diary here.

It must be a coincidence that the beginning of this column starts with "Paris".

-----

"I believe that NFTs are only valuable as long as the person who remembers them (while they are still alive).

Well, that must be "value" too.

It is up to each individual to decide what they consider to be "value".

Live-action adaptations of popular anime usually fail.

Nevertheless, I have continued to say that we should not deny the secondary creation of content.

Why?

Because that is what is essential for a masterpiece like "Live-action Rurouni Kenshin" to be born.

-----

That aside...

From human point of view, the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, is the strongest, worst and most hateful enemy against humanity.

However, from the point of view of the virus, it is literally just a desperate survival strategy, wanting to survive at all costs.

If human's primitive strategy (no contact) is 100% enforced, this infection (COVID-19) can be 100% exterminated.

Absolutely.

In fact, I believe that our country has so far managed to push COVID-19 to the brink of extinction.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 continues to make an unyielding effort to spread and infect us without missing a single moment of our carelessness (drinking parties, banquet)

But the humans too are waging the war of annihilation against COVID-19, with no regard for the economic sacrifice -- on a national level.

So, in order to survive, COVID-19 continues to marry (or more accurately, "cross" and "mutate") to create stronger and more survivable "children".

And most of these "children" fail and die.

The number of failures is not in the hundreds of millions, but in the trillions and even the millions.

And the miraculous child that was born at the end of such a dizzying series of failures -- that is

"mutant strain".

------

What I'm trying to say--

"Mutant strain" is the same as "Live-action Rurouni Kenshin" in the COVID-19 world.

Both of them have one thing in common: they can't be born without making a series of mind-boggling mistakes.

Exactly one year ago, on April 26th, 2020,

If the "overshoot" really occurs in the real world, major cities in Japan will be paralyzed in one month, and corpses will be left on the street within two months.

I wrote that.

The fact that we have managed to survive "this" for the past year is the result of the government's declaration of a state of emergency and various other measures.

The reason why I can say that is because I calculated on my computer what would happen if we did not take any action.

-----

The Prime Minister has apologized for declaring a state of emergency for the third time, but I don't understand the meaning of this apology.

I have never thought of the prime minister as responsible for anything, not even for a moment.

When it comes to the question of responsibility, it is up to us whether one likes it or not

Because the response to this infection control is simple and clear.

However, there is a reason why that simple, obvious thing cannot be done.

We are living on a platform that includes the "reasons why we can't".

We can't blame ourselves for being the building blocks of the platform.

(I think we should unconditionally condemn those who are drinking and partying at this time.)

So, 'Whatever the pros and cons, the responsibility for this situation is on us'

That's all I need to know.

-----

In the past week, "dead bodies on the street" has become a reality in our country.

Osaka and Tokyo are in pretty bad shape.

In India, this is a reality. Patients are dying while waiting in hospital queues, and there are fights for "oxygen cylinders".

Although it is not in the news, I have heard that small countries in Africa have already surpassed that state.

-----

Under these circumstances, the Tokyo Olympics could not be a worse combination.

However, as I said before, I still want to see the "Tokyo Model" even in this situation.

-----

With the "Tokyo Model", "dead bodies on the street" may become a reality.

The corpse could be myself (I don't really care), my wife, or my daughters -- and I know I'll probably regret it to death.

Maybe I'm out of my mind.

Absolutely.

------

Therefore -- if anyone is killed by the forced implementation of the "Tokyo model" of the Tokyo Olympics, I am prepared to be called a "murderer" for the rest of my life until I die.
