There are concrete two points as follow.

(1)How do they think their life that have already been decided that they cannot return to the previous health life, and go worse than now.

and, (2)How do we have to understand their life from the third person's views?

I knew well that these questions belonged to philosophy, so it should has been hard for social workers and care managers to answer the problems.

However, from the viewpoint of "on-the-spot", I thought they were really specialists.

They didn't answer my questions explicitly, I believed that they told me that "nothing to answer" implicitly.

According to the (1) question, that is "getting the ending time they feel happy to had been born and their life"

According to the (2) question that is "making their ending time they feel happy to had been born and their life"

Additionally, I asked the care persons to what it is in detail.

They answered me "warm, calm and easy feeling".

Insistently, I asked them how to give sharp the feelings.

They told me that "I think we do best for "doing our best". What we can do is such thing, after all.

Impressed deep stories, I thought.

Not all "do best" can reach "warm feeling", much less to make them return to old good days.

However, What we can do is such thing.

-----

All of the people in the world have fate of defeat. I think this is real grit.

So, the concept of value that going to purposes or targets for example, examination and business, is the best, eventually becomes meaningless.

It should be too late if we accuse the concept in the last stage of our life, with shouting "you are a liar!!" repeat.

Unless I change the direction of my life now, I am about to going to death with cursing the world around me.

-----

Now I think I understand a little part of warm feeing and love.

Unless I change the direction of "purposes" and "targets" to others, I come to think,

Seriously dangerous.

Last night, after finishing drawing the picture for a column in series, I went downstairs. I met my senior daughter in front of the refrigerator at the dining room.

When I asked her what she was doing, she said,

"I am watching a pinup picture"

I saw the refrigerator door, there was a popular girl's photo (I don't know her at all) that was printed.

I thought that if she was fan of the girl, it was not special for teenagers girls, however, I also thought "Why now?".

-----

She said,

"I pasted pictures of both on active and the after,

I asked her "What for?"

"Well, if I am relax, I start to fall down in just about no time"

She answered.

Yes. I could understand what you said, but I could understand what you want to s say.

(Continuation from yesterday)

The difference between products and service systems is even greater than the difference between my two daughters.

(Incidentally, the wife was surprised to hear my opinion, and said "Is not the system smaller than the difference?")

People who say "horizontal expansion" comfortably for the system,

"do not know what is "system""

I think so.

(But I do not say anymore, because I am a hired engineer).

-----

By the way, in interpretation of patent law, "technology" is

(1) Means for achieving a specific purpose

であって

and

(2) Things that can be communicated to a third party

in addition,

(3) not "skill" that depends on the characteristics (ability, sense or can) of the individual

It is clearly stipulated.

(In the lecture of the patent law, at the very first lesson, "what "technology" is")

"Horizontal expansion" is not "technology".

In addition, is not even "skill".

-----

"Horizontal expansion" is

(1) not be able to be inherited as things like "design drawing" of goods or service model,

(2) to remain only as a "thought" for a person who "designed" it,

(3) something that is implicitly intellectual, personally exclusive and can not be inherited

です。

-----

""Horizontal expansion" will not succeed if we make a specific person a vehicle"

I am afraid that there are too many people who do not understand this.

(But I do not say anymore, because I am a hired engineer).

(Continuation from yesterday)

I return the story.

From the viewpoint of operational cost and security, I think that it is inevitable "instruction for forced exchange of smartphone or PC OS" from the company.

However, to throw away familiar devices and recreate new devices from schedule setting, it is a very unwilling work from both psychological burden and time burden.

For example, even if I have to move to a new iPhone,

"Here, use this one from today"

And I will not complain if a new model whose previous setting was inherited completely is handed over in a brief manner.

-----

However, in many case, it will simply take over the phone number.

E-mail address and SNS account will not be carried over.

Many people have forgotten their account and password for configuration, and it takes a huge amount of time to redo this setting from the beginning, and to contact a help center, etc.

Moreover, the possibility of cracking into human relations will be happen durring downtime of communcations. Especially in a student, it seems to be prominent.

To the corporation (company), employees are also trying to hand over the phone numbers and cooperate with the company system.

Actually I worked while reading the two manuals consisting of 30 pages, failing to cooperate with that procedure, and I had to call people in the information management department directly.

That loss time, was roughly 5 hours.

(Continuation from yesterday)

Eldest daughter: "It's violence to think that you can do what you can do to others."

She said.

My eldest daughter is now going crazy with a report from a college seminar.

-----

I have many things that I can't do with friends, love, school, work, language, and relationships.

I have a bad sense and a conscious mind.

However, I think

"I've never had any trouble writing in my life (after a word processor)"

Juniors and colleagues said to me

"Ebata has the ability to make 100 lines of text that can be explained in just two lines --- "Bad writing ability""

In fact, I earned lunch tickets by my friend's report, and in a university graduation thesis, a friend asked me about "Co-authoring".

-----

Certainly, as the eldest daughter says,

"There are people in the world who can't write a "report" anyway!"

I am afraid that I cannot understand it.

The manga whose title is "Saving a Weak Nation by the Numbers!" This is a very interesting comic book.

# You can read this on Dad's Kindle > my daughters

I found that there is also a paperback version. I'm considering buying it.

-----

As I've explained in my previous in "AI Series", this books include

- Game Theory

- Auction Theory

and, I am impressed by the very clear use cases in the story.

Also, "Holt-Winsters method" and "Lanchester's Law", which I have not known about, come to appear in the book.

I was reading the manga while looking these up on WikiPedia.

I've been vigilantly thinking about using the "Lanchester's Law" method of comparing forces in my columns.

At this age, I have finally come to understand the difference between "simple interest calculation" and "compound interest calculation".

(These are similar to the "consumer finance" and "Amway" stories we talked about before.)

-----

The consistent policy of this manga (library) is "thoroughgoing strategy for the weak".

If I were to put myself in my shoes. I could think,

""A lonely strategy" of a senior salaried engineer without any academic cliques, connections, etc."

I told you this before, too.

""Weak" is "strong" when I master it."

I learned a lot from this story.

-----

So, to all the young people of Japan, the world's leading math-phobic nation.

If you are a "loner" and want to survive in the future, math is going to be a great weapon.

It seems that some of you are reading my blog and choosing books.

So, recently, I have been a little nervous about writing book reviews.

Aside from that.

-----

Today, I would like to recommend "Resurrection Day," another blockbuster science fiction novel by the late Sakyo Komatsu.

(I've repeated this story before, but I'll do it again.)

This is the basic form of my view of the world in which the new coronavirus vaccine could not be developed.

COVID-19 (unlike MM-88) does not have a 100% fatality rate, nor is it airborne (it is highly contagious, but only by contact/droplet transmission).

However, I believe that the "final form of medical collapse" is the same as the one depicted in this novel and movie -- or rather, medical collapse is ongoing.

"A patient was unable to be admitted to the hospital due to full occupancy, was forced to return home, and died after receiving treatment at home".

If we don't call this situation "medical collapse," what do we call it?

-----

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this movie, but this time it was on Amazon Prime, so I was doing data calculations while the movie was playing (data calculations don't require my "brain").

And I noticed it for the first time during this viewing.

"The English pronunciations of the Japanese actors is 'excellent'"

It's not so-called "katakana English pronunciation", but it's not "native pronunciation" either.

It's hard to put into words, but it's the kind of pronunciation that makes me think, "If a Japanese person were working in a foreign country, this is the kind of English they would speak".

The actors probably practiced their lines over and over again.

It was amazing, and I was deeply impressed.

-----

Now, again, I'm stuck with the "Which comes first, the novel or the movie?

My recommendation is basically 'novel first', but it comes with the annoying problem of 'getting angry after watching the movie' if you like the novel.

In addition, Sakyo Komatsu's novels can be a bit "tough" if you don't have a certain level of advanced knowledge (in the case of "Resurrection Day", knowledge about viruses and vaccines).

Still, I think that even Sakyo Komatsu could not have come up with the idea of "designing vaccines by computer" in 1964.

Well, at that time, "computer" was synonymous with "magic box," and it was terribly expensive.

For example, at the time, a mere calculator (computer) weighed 13 kg and cost 360,000 yen (49.7 million yen at today's prices, based on the starting university salary of 17,000 yen (1964)/235,000 yen (2020)).

-----

The "mRNA vaccine" for new coronaviruses is the first human vaccine (for full-scale use in humans) created using the latest vaccine technology and computerized digital technology.

"To be honest, I was so surprised to learn about the manufacturing process of the mRNA vaccine that I was even shaken out of my skin as an IT engineer."

-----

However, as I wrote here, 'there is a hell of a lot of steady empirical experiments hidden to fill in the gaps between theory and practice'.

After all, vaccine production is not something that can be done by a computer.

It is inevitable that there will be a huge process of empirical/clinical testing to verify the safety of the product.

------

I won't write about it because it would be a spoiler, but the one thing in "Resurrection Day" that completely eliminates MM-88, a virus with a 100% fatality rate, is a surprising object.

Well... Yeah, I would still recommend "Novel First".

The Ebata family uses an FM transmitter + radio system to bring the TV sound to their hands.

Two of the above "bumper radios" are now in operation in the Ebata household.

However, the following, fixed station FM transmitters (except for in-vehicle use) do not appear to be available for sale.

Well, the Ebata family still has two of them in reserve, so we are fine (we recently retrieved one from my parents' house).

-----

I recently saw a news story about a study that found that the inability to recognize speech sounds can lead to progressive cognitive impairment.

Early wearing of "hearing aids" was recommended, but I think this kind of radio-based system is also effective.

It is nice to be able to hear the audio wherever I carry the radio (for example, I am programming in my study on the 2nd floor while "listening" to the NHK special).

However, such products seem to be sold quite well, so there may be no need to force the creation of such a system.

However, I think it is quite "good" to sell only a "transmitter (FM transmitter)" and any radio can be used with it, but perhaps the integrated type is better suited to the needs of the elderly.

I am also creative with my radio batteries.

I am taking various chiseled energy-saving measures, such as making it work with only two batteries.

I have said many things in my daily life and on my blog.

When I wondered what I hadn't said to the contrary,

"Nurturing People"

I have never used the phrase

(I searched all past diaries, and it was not there.)

-----

I've never thought of even my children as 'Nurturing' -- that was 'Nurtured on their own.

I have scolded them tremendously for wrong things, but I can only remember a few.

All I did was provide, build, and maintain the infrastructure for their lives (although I also fought to the point of destroying the organization if necessary).

In my case, I will not say that I Nurtured my children or anything like that.

Why?

Because I didn't want to go through all that hassle.

-----

When I read materials for company managers, I see phrases such as "nurture subordinates.

I am genuinely impressed (no sarcasm intended).

I think of "measures" to move people, but not to "train" them.

It is purely to make things easier for me.

-----

Through my long career as a salaried worker, I have learned that those who use phrases such as "nurturing people" without hesitation are usually "destroying people.

This is one of my few specialties from the perspective of how inventions and patent specifications were created. Still, it was particularly noticeable in the work of invention-creation.

I have seen enough of "stupid bosses who crush the freshly born, feeble little inventions of young researchers with their own experience and knowledge.

The invention is born as a weak and small being, like a 'newborn.'

The boss's role is to nourish this "newborn" and raise it into a strong patent right by enabling it to walk.

I have seen bosses who say this is 'nurturing people' but continue to kill these newborns because they are 'not novel' or 'not progressive.'

Anyway, I thought,?

- What are you doing? Isn't it the role of the boss to raise that "newborn baby" with you while struggling to make it work?

- What in the world are you talking about "Nurturing subordinates"?

But, well, this is just one example in my tiny scope.

It would be presumptuous of me to discuss human resource development from my narrow perspective and experience.

Anyway, I am deeply convinced that it is pretty natural that I, who consider "Nurturing people" to be "troublesome," have not been in a position to lead an organization.
