先日、かつての上司の、還暦をお祝いする会の司会を行ってきました。

The other day, I acted as master of ceremonies of my ex-boss 60th birthday.

もともと、私は、パーティで、ボーッと席で飯や酒を飲んでいるくらいなら、司会などで忙しくしている方が好きなので、こういう仕事は苦になりません。

Basically, I like better to act the master, than to just drink and have a dinner at a table. so I don't feel nervous about the task.

後輩：「江端さん。先日の司会、お疲れ様でした」

Junior fellow(JF):"Ebata-san. Thank you for the toast master"

江端：「構うな。今、忙しい」

Ebata:"Don't disturb. I am busy"

後輩：「江端さん。そんなこと言っていていいんですか？」

JF:"Ebata-san, Are you really O.K. to say so?"

江端：「？」

Ebata:"What?"

後輩：「江端さんの還暦を祝う会を、企画運営するのは、私ですよ」

JF:"It is me to plan and manage your 60th birthday"

江端：「お前なんぞには頼まん」

Ebata:"I am not going to count on you at all"

後輩：「江端さんの会を開催してくれるような人間が、私以外にいると思うんですか？」

JF:"Who can care for it except of me?"

江端：「わかっとらんのはお前だ。『この私の還暦のお祝いの会』なんだろう？」

Ebata:"It's you who can not understand. You talk about "the ceremony of my 60th birthday don't you?"

後輩：「？」

JF:"?"

江端：「その会を企画・運営、そして司会も、それを実施するのは『この私』だ」

Ebata:"It is me that plan and manage the ceremony and to also act as a toast-master"

後輩：「・・・」

JF:"...."

江端：「例えば、私がマイクを持ちながら、『ただいま、私、江端が入場しいます。みなさん、この私、江端に盛大な拍手でお迎え下さい』くらいのことは、当然にやるぞ」

Ebata:"For example, I will say naturally, "Now I am coming to this hall. Everyone, please welcome me in a grand applause" talking with a microphone."

後輩：「・・・」

JF:"...."

江端：「花束贈呈だって、贈る側と、贈られる側の両方を、一人でやってみせるぞ」

Ebata:"Even bouquet presentation, I could act as both the person who give the bouquet and who is give the the bouquet at the same time"

後輩：「・・・」

JF:"...."

江端：「ほれ、分ったなら、とっととあっちへ行け」

Ebata:"Understood? if so, go far away soon."
