2020-07-06 Ebata: "The other day at Youtube University with Professor Atsuhiko Nakata..." [長年日記]

I had a conversation with my wife in the car the other day.

Ebata: "The other day at Youtube University with Professor Atsuhiko Nakata..."

Wife: "Hmm, "Professor" Atsuhiko Nakata"

She ridiculed me a little, however, but I have a habit of respecting anyone who I have respected.

-----

There seems to be various criticisms of Mr. Atsuhiko Nakata's lecture on YouTube.

I can also point out some mistakes regarding technical lectures.

Moreover, Mr. Atsuhiko Nakata's lecture is basically an introduction of the contents of other people's books.

In that sense, it may be said that "Atsuhiko Nakata's originality is small."

-----

However, taking these into consideration, Mr. Atsuhiko Nakata's lecture includes

(1)Speaking skills that keep me focused on the 20-30 minute lecture

(2)Summary potential to explain with only one white board

(3)Information compression technology that narrows the points of the lecture to about five

(4)Comparative technology that clears issues from a unique perspective (e.g., fitting of current people, politics, common sense, etc.)

like all presentation methods.

As a researcher, I can learn the excellent presentation methods, needless of the contents of the lectures.

-----

In addition,

80% to 90% of the lecture content is correct (considering from what I understand (technical field))

This is a surprisingly high number for a non-specialist presentation.

The reason why I find "surprisingly high" is clear (to me) compared to the cruelty of the content written by humans, who are also known as "tech writers".

And the overwhelming value of Prof. Atsuhiko Nakata's youtube university is

"Let me want to know more"

This will be one point.

-----

Professor Atsuhiko Nakata's YouTube University is just a "chance".

From there, the value of this lecture is going to finish, by starting your studies with your own interests.
