The other day, I wrote the column that engineers have some tasks of not only "creating" but also "destroying", and the "destroying" task is really important.

Today I will introduce you one example from my mails.

A few days ago, our wireless communication experiment system returned from the research laboratory of China, and I am destroying the system radically.

Yesterday I completely returned the communication board to the company that had borrowed for us. Today I am going to start to destroy the board computer.

If somebody needs this computer, please let me know and say "Stop" by today, and rob me of it.

The size is enough to carry one person.

One day "strained back" comes suddenly, and the execution time is , I think, less than half second.

I am afraid that I am now "smoothy back" so called, that the executive time seems to be more than 48 hours.

The pain become worser day by day, and I cannot walk normally with the hard back pain.

One of the reason might be my age, but basically the execution condition is determined by amount of work and their difficulties.

The sequences are followings.

(Step.1) The backache comes.

(Step.2) I wake up by the pain when I roll over in my sleep.

(Step.3) I drink alcohol.

(Step.4) I take a sleeping tablet.

(Step.5) I go to the office without enough sleeping.

(Step.6) I don't feel refresh and the backache become worse.

During this process, my mind become collapse soon.

I know well that, if I am knocked down, a project will also be knocked down. and final everybody is going unhappy.

The important thing is not to endure the pain, but have a bravery to shout "pain!", "hard!" and "impossible" in your office. After all, your bravery will save all of your colleague.

This time, I had to use the above methods.

I know that it is clunky.

It is the continuation of the story of interview lesson the day before yesterday.

In order to show the skill of interview, both my daughter and I started the simulation. I was the role of a student, my daughter was the role of an interviewer.

Daughter (Interviewer): "What is your interesting current affairs problem?"

I (Examiner): "Yes, they are a railway accident and artificial intelligence"

Daughter (Interviewer): "What are them?"

I (Examiner): "Yes. according to railway injuries, I checked 50,000 data analysis and further 3000 Twitter messages with mathematical analysis ..."

Therefore, my wife caught my mouth.

I heard a complaint of administrative position's person that is "subordinates try to hide their works".

In short, that means, "nobody asks boss's advice"

However when I heard the complaint, I think

"It is no wonder that subordinates don't want to ask boss's advice"

The reason is simple.

If they ask their boss about the work, it will come annoying for them to interfere with the progresses.

In order to realize "reduced working hours" or "productivity promotion". it is the best way to erase boss's interference in advance.

In this case, the boss's "how to interfere" also has problems.

I think that the boss should "assist" or "give an advice" without trying to change works procedure, however, many of "most bosses not consulted from subordinates" is trying to deny what his subordinates are doing, and to present a new plan.

For a subordinate who has started work, and is not able to go back, they are not interested in which plan is better for their plan and their manager's plan.

When you read my column etc, you might think,

"Ebata is an atheist (or a materialist), who does not believe UFOs, ghosts (paranormal) classes"

However, that is a misunderstanding.

In fact, I watched something like God (that was a hard to say "God"),

Besides, I do not think anyone who had experienced UFOs, ghosts, (so-called "seeers"), is "liars".

Rather, I think "I envy them".

If possible, I'd like to go to see UFOs, ghosts (paranormal) and etc. with a traveling suitcase full of various measuring devices.

When my father died this summer, I brought a futon to my father's side and I tried to sleep together.

I was trying to check the time with the clock in the living room, but the time on the clock was off by 6 hours.

I also remember the time of the clock of my father's bedroom next to the living room was out of time.

However, they didn't stop, so I thought, "watch batteries got weak."

I set my wake-up time on my smartphone and slept beside my father that night.

Two weeks later, I returned home again by inheritance and courses procedure.

At that time, I noticed that the time of the living room and bedroom clocks was restored.

My sister said "I have not done anything like that".

By the way, both of the clocks work with batteries, and there is no automatic time correction function like a radio clock.

It is not "what I want to do"

but "what other person orders me to do", and

it impresses others by chance.

When I look at the world (including Japan) after the U.S. presidential election, I feel relieved that there are so many people in the world who do not know the principle of the burden of proof. At the same time, it feels bleak.

The burden of proof doesn't have to be complete facts, but it can be derived from various types of reasoning based on data (numbers) that you have a handle on.

It's enough to have supporting numbers, evidence and logic to persuade many people of that reasoning.

It's not that the burden of proof is "on the media" to prove anything.

But it's easy and effortless to "criticize the media". It's overwhelming.

You don't have to do any calculations on your own calculator or computer, and you don't have to do any literature research in the first place. You can just write a phrase in a few seconds.

How many times have I thought, that I wanted to stop writing this columns and walk away looking good, without sweating, and just writing a critical comment for a few seconds.

I have the confidence to look for evidence and construct logic to establish that I am a feeble-minded person.

However, when it comes to "how many people will accept the results of that proof", it's a whole different story.

The biggest problem is,

"Feeble-minded persons don't/can't do anything to gather evidence or construct logic to prove their claims"

Maybe I can't stand up to this claim.

With the advancement of hardware and software (algorithms), the champions of Chess, Shogi, and Go have all been taken by computers.

However, it seems that the number of chess, shogi and go fans is not declining.

I don't know much about these gaming trends, but I do know a lot about the subculture (comics, anime, and light-novel).

As I look at these fields, I feel that the content based on these games is rather increasing.

Needless to say, it may be obvious.

No one can beat a bulldozer when it comes to lifting weights, and no one can run faster than a bullet train.

But that doesn't mean that the Olympics will disappear in the future.

The object of human beings, consisting of the constraints of human ability, effort, beliefs, and other troublesome analog attributes, is an interesting content in itself.

Therefore, the game confrontation between the object and the object would be a "work of art" by itself.

The other day, I watched the NHK special "2030: A Crossroads for the Future (5) 'AI War: Endless Fear'.

This was to prove that, contrary to the above, "weapons reach their full potential when humans are not included.

When conducted aerial battles (in a simulator) between computer-controlled fighters and pilot-operated fighters, the pilots were defeated in every battle.

In other words, "unmanned weapons can ignore the limits of human survival.

Compared to that, "AI" is a small factor.

Well, the anime I would like to introduce to you today is "Heavy Object".

This anime, in my opinion, is one of the best in all of me, comparable to Steins;Gate/Zero, but it's not well known.

For engineers of so-called mathematical computation, prediction, and other "so-called" AI, the contents are irresistible.

It also gets high marks for being a fairly accurate portrayal of the 'so-called' AI wars.

In particular, the line from episode 23 of Heavy Object

- War is a primitive human instinct.

- That is why it must be controlled by reason.

- With the symbol of power of The OBJECT, a digitally managed war is not really a war.

- It's a safety device.

made me think deeply about the AI-War.

In view of Clausewitz's "War is a means of diplomacy."

- A so-called AI can fight a battle in virtual space and decide the winner in seconds.

- And if that doesn't settle the score, unmanned weapons will do the fighting in the real world.

If we can achieve such a war with zero human casualties, then we can achieve something like "AI diplomacy based on AI weapons.

I thought that.

In other words, it is a world where the heroes in that war will be IT engineers like me.

It's a world where those who can't do math, science, or IT are oppressed -- "If you're not a person of science, you're not a person"

It's a paradise.

Recently, there have been articles that discuss the superiority of programming languages, but every time I see an article like this, I think

"Really Ridiculous"

There was a German philosopher (I forget his name) who said, "If you want to discuss philosophy, you must speak German," and he was ridiculed around the world.

It is similar to that feeling.

If you are in a country, it is a civilized manner to speak in the language of that country.

A person who rejects a language because it is inefficient or difficult to use is a "barbarian". At the very least, he is not a civilized person.

Likewise, if you are in that company, organization, or team, it is good manners to use the programming language used there.

This is because the languages used there have a vast amount of assets (libraries, environment, etc.) that have been accumulated there.

Programming language is a kind of religion.

If you have a language you believe in, you should do proper missionary work.

You need to properly and objectively evaluate and show the benefits of conversion, quantitatively, and sometimes internal maneuvering -- and be prepared to be a "martyr" from time to time.

It makes sense to do so and bring it into a development environment that is convenient for you -- don't be easy.

When I read "articles discussing the superiority or inferiority of programming languages," I am dismayed at the shallowness of the author's perspective and insight.

New features called "advantages" of a programming language are accompanied by "disadvantages" of the same magnitude as the advantages.

I can say this with confidence, having tried more than 20 languages.

I would be able to respond to both 'disingenuous, with the disadvantages of this language' and 'write a column with the advantages of this language'.

I purchased This HDD recorder in 2013 (10 years ago) at our home.

Since the day before yesterday, I have been experiencing a strange phenomenon where it stops (black screen) for about 2 seconds every 30 seconds.

Since this occurs in the recording screen and tuner mode, I decided it is not an HDD error.

I have checked all HDMI cables, power supply, NTSC, everything is fine; and I even tried shutting down the NAS set up next to it, but the symptoms are not improving.

I thought, 'This is indeed a lifetime.

However, it is a pity.

This is because I had already purchased a new replacement remote control, as this product was discontinued and no remote control was available.

The failure to do so is quite subtle,

"Offensive, but not so offensive that I lose track of the program."

This is the very edge of the phase.

I even watched an NHK historical drama in that mode.

And I was able to supplement my knowledge of Hamas and Israel with special programs.

Well, I still thought this was a bad idea, so I started looking for a replacement, but very few HDD recorder products are on the market.

In addition, the price is high.

I was troubled by this.

The Ebata family allocates two tuners to an external HDD and two to an HDD recorder, with the former used primarily by the wife and me.

The recorded programs are also completely segregated.

'Drama, Variety, Song Shows' v.s. 'Islam, Terrorism, Nazis, History, Science'.

'This is not a problem of price,' I considered purchasing a new model.

However, this failure was entirely fixed when I tried running the system today.

It is a resurgence as if it has forgotten the two-day battle with me.

I have been struggling with machines for a long time, so I know them well, but machines can "self-heal" in a whimsical way.

Most of the time, however, this is an illusion.

I think they will be utterly silent shortly, but I will let it work until then.
