2014-08-24 "Are all children yours?"

This weekend, I have written a column about the Article 772 of civil law (estimate of the legitimacy of birth)

My senior daughter came in my room with her summer homework, because the cooler was working.

The following is the conversation with my daughter.

-----

Ebata: "According to the rule of Article 772 Clause 1, even if mom has an affair and had a child of another man, all of them become my children legally.

Daughter: "Are all children yours?"

Ebata: "Yes."

Daughter: "Does mom has an affair with a foreigner?"

Ebata: "Yes."

Daughter: "Blue eye's child?"

Ebata: "Even if they have different skin color"

Daughter: "Papa, You are cool!"

-----

Thought I didn't understand what the "cool" mean, I understood what my daughter was going to say somehow.

2015-08-24 Drawing an illustartion is a method of my stress reduction.

Today, a new column is released, so I take a day off.

"Let's turn the world by "Number" Diet (18) Greed to diet is stronger than a strategy of species preservation ?

-----

"I often break down for the deadline of colums."

So, drawing an illustartion is a method of my stress reduction.

But, in this time, it might be a rare case of "drawing an illustration increased my stress".

2016-08-24 "I cannot explain the reason, however, your column is unpleasant, anyway"

Today, new my column is released, so I take a day off.

"Let's turn the world by "Number" Accident resulting in injury or death (33) "

No tactical option to railway personal injury!? The numbers speak the reason.

-----

"I cannot explain the reason, however, your column is unpleasant, anyway"

The junior researcher of mine said that,

has existed.

2017-08-24 "Erotic of VR (Virtual Reality) is amazing!!"

Previously, at a drinking party,

"Erotic of VR (Virtual Reality) is amazing!!"

About the talk about juniors who talk hotly,

I was listening, like

"I am interested in just technical perspective"

------

Can someone make the detailed report and send it to me?

"I would like to examine for whether I can propose the next series to "EE Times Japan" editorial department" is not true, but

I want to know it, personally, strongly at the bottom of my heart.

2018-08-24 We, nowadays, are seldom killed unduly by others, even if we have no power. However, nobody knows in our future.

(Continuation from yesterday)

Relatively cool days have continued for about a week, but recently the heat days has come back again.(However I did not think that I called the day of temperature 30 degrees "cool" in my life)

Frankly speaking, I cannot sleep well without air-conditioner. If not sleeping well, it might be no problem. However, I have to exchange for life.

The person who has a creed of "Nuclear Power Plants are needed and we have to keep and manage them, should argue his/her article of faith with this "blistering heat" in this summer.

However I have never read such arguments before.

(To tell you the truth, it is not unknown thing, but) the present Japan is in trouble handling power surplus. This is the normal knowledge for our engineer. (I will write the column about this issue)

So, unfortunately, this "blistering heat" might not be a "value of hostage"

Set it aside,

-----

Recently I have done a thought experiment.

When I bring Tokugawa Ieyasu to the present age (tropical night with high humidity) and ask him,

Choose either "the position of the highest authority of the Edo shogunate" and "the day with the air conditioner"

Which will he choose ?

In my case, I absolutely choose "air conditioner"

Even if he knows a comfort of air-conditioner, he might think that "power" is appeal to him more than "air-conditioner". I have thought nonissue for a long time.

-----

At the period, "Losing power" reaches to "instant death", so this comparison might be nonsense.

We, nowadays, are seldom killed unduly by others, even if we have no power. However, nobody knows in our future.

For example, nobody knew that the armed services ignored Japanese government by the reason of invasion of supreme command( civilian control was broken perfectly) when Imperial Constitution of Japan was established.

Nobody also knew territorial defense by the Self-Defense Forces, and the possibility of amendment of the Constitution, article 9, when Constitution of Japan was established.

-----

Well let me forget all annoying things,

In view of the past period, I was just a "foot soldier" that was lower class of "infantry"

"A warring lord who cannot use air-conditioner" or "a foot soldier who can use air-conditioner". I think I like to be the latter.

2019-08-24 "This is not "real me", who pretend to like what I don't like"

(Continuation from yesterday)

Since then, I have always lived paying attention to "Whether I'm conscious, I'm always an perpetrator" and "What type of perpetrator I am now".

In other words, instead of "original sin(*)" in Christianity, we came up with the concept of "current sin (sin for ongoing forms of perpetrator)”.

(*)The idea that the first humans, Adam and Eve, were committed against God and we inherit it at the DNA level

Well then, this concept of my "current sin" has been changing to

"Dont't being an unconscious perpetrator"

"If I have to be an perpetrator, I will be the perpetrator "intentionally" and "plannedly" with definite malicious intentions from the beginning.

Let's talk this story to another opportunity.

-----

Let's go back.

When I was a junior school student, I collected stamps and ancient coins, though I was not interested in them at all.

That was the start point.

What I wanted to say is

Our "favorites" are not made by ourselves,

We just take in something made in the outside world.

-----

"We can't create our own "favorites""

This idea will make you easier.

In addition, there will be various benefits if we think that "I also like what many people like”.

For example, escaping from bully and ostracism.

Moreover

"This is not "real me", who pretend to like what I don't like"

Let's stop such masochism.

"Real me" ----- Nobody can find it anywhere(*).

(*)"I am both me and my environment" (Ortega, Reflection on Don Quixote)

2020-08-24 Yeah, I don't like people who say these things either.

This is my impression after watching episode 7 of "My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong,As I Expected -- Final"

There's a word for "self-aware".

It seems to be a term of ridicule for people who use English-words in conversation.

So, I did some research on that word "self-aware".

Assign, Evidence, Commitment, Just Ideas, Zero-Based, Summary, Tight, Default, Fix, Priority...

Hmmm, if I am banned from using these, I am in a lot of trouble.

In particular, I will not be able to have a patent brainstorming session (or should I say, a patent idea review session).

However, I also think some people may find the use of these words offensive.

There's a problem of "misunderstanding of terms". For example, I once got angry when someone mistook "avatar" for "pockmark".

Well, I think it's important to use these terms in accordance with the TPO.

----

As for me, I'd rather exterminate people

"who use the term "AI" to refer to all kinds of digital services"

"It's powered by an AI.so.."

"Wait. What technology is this "AI" you're talking about? Machine learning? A neural network? Statistical analysis? Or else?"

If I say something like that, everyone will hate me. It will be too late, though.

-----

"Bad politics!"

"Wait. What field is this "politics" in? Finances? Welfare? Military? Diplomacy? Education? Or is it the target. The ruling party? Opposition? Or maybe it's the ministry. And if so, which one is that ministry?"

Yeah, I don't like people who say these things either.

2021-08-24 "All right, but let those among you who have never gone out unnecessarily throw stones at the government or the Tokyo Metropolitan Government"

I believe there is much to be learned from the best seller of the millennium, the Buddhist scriptures, the Koran, and the New Testament.

For example, in the Gospel of John, chapter 8, verses 3-11, we can read a scene where Jesus and the scribes confront each other over a woman caught in adultery.

In the Old Testament law, adultery was punishable by death by stoning.

When asked for his judgment, Jesus said

=====

"All right, but let those among you who have never sinned throw stones at this woman"

=====

These are profound words.

-----

Today, under the separation of powers and the guarantee of freedom of speech, the government or local government (e.g., Tokyo Metropolitan Government), which is in charge of implementing policies, has been criticized by the public and prefectural residents for its measures against the COVID-19 infection.

Asked to make a decision in the midst of the COVID-19 disaster, Ebata, who is an engineer, said

=====

"All right, but let those among you who have never gone out unnecessarily throw stones at the government or the Tokyo Metropolitan Government"

=====

-----

"No, no, no way!"

Governments and local governments have the responsibility to include behavioral change in their citizens and residents.

Any "criticism" of the executive branch is worthy of its own criticism (and need not be accompanied by an alternative).

Besides, if we regard John 8:3-11 as absolute justice, it would be a denial of the "rule of law".

-----

Having said that, if it were up to me,

To "street drinkers" and "taverns that host late-night drinking parties",

I think I have the right to throw "pumice stones" or "ping pong balls" at them.

2022-08-24 "Edison, you idiot"

In the aphorism of Edison, the king of inventors,

'Most people who fail in life are those who didn't realise how close they were to success when they gave up.'

I, having lived for half a century, know what I know.

"Edison, you idiot"

-----

'Not giving up' may be important, but 'not giving up' has a negative cost in terms of enormous time, cost and impact on those around you - making not only you but also those around you unhappy.

Especially, one of the impact to me, is "destory my mind, and to the worst, kill myself".

'Getting started' is easy.

However, 'giving it up' is 100 times more difficult and painful than "getting started".

That is the 'curse of sunk costs'.

'Giving up' is harder than 'getting started' and, therefore, more worthwhile.

Stupid Edison didn't seem to realise it. I, however, know that.

-----

I have recently been reading a lot of books on cults

The 'curse of sunk costs' has been found to be a psychological factor in people's inability to leave cults.

2023-08-24 My policy is, "As a rule, I create my writing for my future self, and if I'm lucky, for the benefit of others."

As should be obvious to readers of my columns, I am the type of person who mass-produces sentences without regard to format.

My policy is, "As a rule, I create my writing for my future self, and if I'm lucky, for the benefit of others."

I think It is better to ignore formats and keep what I can leave than to reduce the information with care in the formats.

There is, however, an opposing view to this, and it is significant.

Well, one might say that this is the difference between "me-ism (self-centeredness)" and "cosmopolitanism (world citizenship).

-----

The only thing I am morbidly concerned about formatting is communication protocol programs.

This is because a protocol error of just one bit will result in a loss of communication.

In other words, in a world where we can't move a millimeter without strict adherence to a format, we must.

-----

'I wish the world would adapt to my (loose, messy) policy format' -- but I can't help myself with this one.
